Did Sean leave us because he knew the league would continue to screw us?

Seemed weird he would leave us for a year then take a job like the broncos who at the time were in worse shape than we were. I think he knew the league had this vendetta out against us and that he was going to be battling uphill here trying to get back to the mountain top.

Sean been trying to leave since 2016. He was getting ready to skip to the Rams before McVay got hired. Then he had another resurgence in 2017, which he blew a Super Bowl back to back. Once Brees left he knew it was a sinking ship. Personally I always got the feeling he didn't like living in New Orleans and once that count came into his life it just exacerbated the move.

Based on what he and Parcells before have said, I think the main thing he needed was a year or two off, but they don’t have sabbaticals in the nfl so you get a coach quitting and starting back up later. Secondarily, the Saints had mortgaged the future for the last few playoff runs with Brees, and I don’t think his heart was in it to coach through a rebuild.

Drew was done and the team was mired in cap hell. He saw what was ahead and bailed.

He left right after the succession was announced. Long term he had no skin in the game and knew it . No matter how much they put a bow on his resignation then
