Devery Henderson Appreciation Thread

With the 50th pick in the 2004 NFL draft the New Orleans Saints select...Devery Henderson..WR..Louisiana State.
BlueGrass Miracle
Devery "boo boo" Henderson has served as the Saints' deep threat wideout valiantly. Although most believe Devery never lived up to his 2nd round potential, boo boo has been a part of some memorable plays and effort over the years including a super bowl title.
November 6, 2006 VS. Tampa Bay- Henderson had arguably his best game at the NFL level with 3 passes for 111 yards and 2 TD's.
November 26, 2006 VS. Atlanta- Devery caught 5 catches for 158 yards including a 76 yard touchdown.
December 10, 2006 VS. Dallas- Henderson hauls in 2 passes for 98 yards as Sean Payton upsets his former team and former boss Bill Parcells, 42-17 on national TV.
March 2, 2009- Devery Henderson signs 4 year, $12 million contract extension with Saints.
February 7, 2010- Devery catches 7 balls for 63 yards to help the Saints capture SB44.
October 8, 2012 VS San Diego- Henderson catches the most memorable TD of his career in helping Drew Brees break Unitas' consecutive games with a TD record.
This is without a doubt my favorite Devery moment. Second favorite would have to be the pump fake wide open TD catch against the Patriots in '09.
Almost definitely is an end coming to a good career of a Saints WR that will forever be known to have "slippery hands"

Didn't he catch the flea flicker in the Cardinals playoff game as well?

Great effort on your part.
The Saints have had a bunch of guys fleece them out of a pay check...Henderson has not been one of them.

One of the best hometown careers in sports history. And one of my favorite Saints. Never runs his mouth, never complains, he just does his job day in and day out.
If he's gone this year. He will be missed. I'd hate to see him finish his career in anything but a black and gold uniform.

Ladies and Gentlemen, newbs and lurkers, THIS is how you make a thread.

I used to be very critical of him because of his drops, but he turned into a great deep threat and a consistent receiver for us. I was wrong

My name is Suntiger and I support this thread.
Eventhough I'm not ready to say that Devery's career as a Saint is over just yet.

He dropped a lot at first and it was frustrating; I remember reading the coaches determined he was not turning his head quickly enough, and when they worked with him to improve that one simple thing, it all clicked for him. He has made some big time catches; favorite in recent memory was the catch he made at his ankles, despite interference, in the Thanksgiving game vs Dallas.

appreciation, in his 8 years in black and gold, he has never lost a fumble.

Average career at best. Definitely not one of the best hometown careers in sports history.

What a douchebag. Posts just to hate in an appreciation thread. Good job on being 'that guy'.

He could do the backstroke to the end zone.

Dont get me wrong, He had a nice NFL career and I appreciate everything he's done for the saints, but to say he had one of the best hometown careers in sports history is wrong.

he also blocked really well for a receiver. I'm going to miss him.
