Don't recall that. His agent said he was healthy and hungry and ready for the next chapter.

Then again that's an agent being an agent, because if his client doesn't get paid neither does he.

I'd honestly rather go with Kelemete and Lelito. At least they have the chance to improve, while Jahri is only going to get worse. Jahri has been a great Saint, but sadly he's done. Slauson would be a huge get at this point in the offseason.

If we got slauson, we'd have a darn good OL.

I think saints fans are too hard on Lelito.

I think he has tremendous value as a backup. He's not a terrible starter, but will never be a strength.

As a backup, he's solid at C and G. That depth is important

How so? He was not very good and ended up getting benched a couple times during the season. He is a good run blocker, but really struggles in pass blocking and picking up blitzes and stunts.

He's also a more natural RG. Evans was in his way, so to speak.

Please share your insight. There has been 0 indications that it was contentious. I think Jahri understands that it was a business move. The Saints made him a very wealthy man.

All reports from Saints beat-writers were that Jahri still saw himself as one of the best offensive lineman on the team. Saints approached him for a pay cut and he told them no. Saints then released him and all reports were he wasn't happy about the disrespect.

Jahri Evans is a Hall of Famer (or should be one day), but he took it way too personal and is sadly too old and broken down to give a team anything of value. And his relationship with the Saints, at the moment, isn't a good one.

What reports? Don't recall anything like that, except to say he didn't want to take another paycut.

Link? Not wanting to take a pay cut and overvaluing yourself =\ ugly breakup

In a statement to ESPN earlier this week, Colton said, "Jahri has appreciated 10 great years. It's been a great run for a kid from Bloomsburg with a great city and a great organization. And he got to ride it out with one coach, one quarterback, a lot of the teammates he came in with. Too good to be true. It's sad that it's come to end, but now he's ready for the next chapter."

All seemed pretty cordial....

Yeah I didn't see animosity. No doubt he still felt like he could play, but I saw zip about where he took it personal.

Would change my view of his character if so.

"Me and coach Payton talked this offseason," Evans said. "I don't think I'm going anywhere. ... and (if something happens) I won't be out of a job for long."

he refused a pay cut, said he'd get a new job quick if the saints cut him, then got one workout the entire offseason and didn't get signed.

it's not that much of a stretch to assume he got butthurt aver being cut and that he is currently overstating his worth and quality of play.

And when people were tweeting some of the beat writers to see if we would bring back Jahri, their response was very telling by implying he wouldn't want to come back for other reasons.

It's a running joke from the post by THRILLHO from page 1

Can you please start linking "all the reports"

Or just 1

I'm looking, and I can't find anything but praise by the saints. Nothing negative from Evans either unless you think refusing a paycut is negative.

if you refuse to take a pay cut, then say you'll get a new job quick if your present team cuts you and it turns out that only one team even ends up kicking the tires on you, I'd say you have an inflated opinion of your current ability which can be construed as negativity from Evans.

So no reports of anything negative from Evans to the Saints. Got it

He literally put out the opposite to the media. He also attended Smith's service wearing Smith's Saints jersey.

Colston was cut too and doesn't want to retire...is he sore too?

I highly doubt Colston still wants to play.
