Holy shite, this franchise was an absolute dumpster fire.

Obviously, Payton is in first place with a .631 win percentage and Mora is second with a .557 win percentage, but Allen is third at .471, slightly beating out Haslett at 4.69.

He also has the 5th most wins by a head coach with 16, with Payton at 152, Mora at 93, Haslett at 45, and Bum Philips at 27

The Saints were so damn bad pre-Mora. I'd like to see Jim get more respect. He turned not one but two franchises from dumpster fires into playoff teams with solid rosters. He was just so conservative that he couldn't get over the hump.

Saw something on twitter that said 6 out of the 8 teams that lost to the Saints have fired their head coach or head coordinators.

It’s hard to hold that 3-13 season against Haslett. Every game was a road game and most players had packed it in by that point. If you take out that season, he had a .525 winning percentage.

I’m no big fan of Haslett, but he was a better head coach than Allen.

100%

People forget how awful the Saints were Mora’s last 3 years, and all the Ditka and Haslett miserable years.

ONE playoff season from 1994 til 2006

Even Post Mora looks great compared to pre mora

Post Mora 27 seasons 235-200-0 0.540, 13 winning seasons, 12 losing seasons, and 2 0.500 seasons.

Pre-Mora 18 seasons 83-187-5 0.302, 0 Winning seasons, 16 Losing seasons, and 2 0.500 seasons.

A better way to look at this is probably ownership.

John Mecom was the owner for all of those pre-Mora years.

Mecom 18 seasons 83-187-5 0.302, 0 Winning seasons, 16 Losing seasons, and 2 0.500 seasons.

Tom Benson 36 seasons 313-263-0 0.543, 18 seasons, 20 Winning seasons, 14 Losing seasons, and 2 0.500 seasons.

Gayle Benson 2 seasons 16-18-0 0.471, 1 Winning season, 1 losing season
