False. Colloquialism isn't just racial. New Yorkers have accents, Louisianians have accents, Arkansasians have accents, etc. To say that commenting that someone is well-spoken is purely racial is narrow-minded and shortsighted.
I have alot of black friends who feel that way about that statement. That's why I say this.

I thought the same thing, that he speaks well and sounds very intelligent. I didn;t know he was smart. It is hard to do on live TV. I have tried to do it.

What the hell? Seriously? This is said about whites, blacks, browns, and yellows all equally.
Good Lord, certain blacks need to get over their victim complex.

Of course I'm serious.
I have heard and used that term, " well spoken", for my entire life, and only heard race baiters begin to complain about it's application to well spoken blacks about 10 - 15 years ago. Anyone who finds it demeaning is absolutely ignorant. I refuse to go along with the corruption of a perfectly useful and descriptive phrase that has no real intent of harm. People under the burden of victim mentality should not be placated. It only exascerbates their condition.
Oh, and to you, Sophandros, there is a big difference between ignoring obvious racism and refusing to participate in race baiting or placating hypersensitive victim mentality.
