Is this even an option for the saints?

Don’t follow the off season closely but man we could
Use someone opposite from Lattimore.

Sorry if already discussed, searched but didn’t see anything.

probably too expensive. some team with alot of cap space is gonna overpay for him. he may have 1 or 2 more elite years.. but giving a guy like that a massive 5 year contract would be idiotic. He wants to be the highest paid corner and he isn't worth it. It'd be as dumb as the redskins signing Josh Norman.. and look at him now. he was the worst corner in the league

Janoris Jenkins I think could be the answer but would probably need to have his numbers reworked.

I don't know all the details with him but once he got settled in I thought he did a good job.

Traded for Jenkins in the middle of the season. I think (hope) he’s the answer at the other corner. I think we have other needs bigger than CB this offseason. Need a Peat replacement, likely a DT and a WR.

It's not as dumb as paying Norman was
Slay has been elite for years

I wouldn't trade and then sign him to that contract, but to say it's the same is wrong
Slay is and was better than norman

yeah for years.. key word... years. corners don't have the longest shelf life. once their athleticism slips just a little. game over. guys like Sherman can last a while because he doesn't rely as much on athleticism. and he still gets burned from time to time. I'm no saints fan... but I don't think it would be a smart decision given the situation yall are in now. maybe if the Saints want to make one last desperate attempt at it. But yall already have an elite corner who needs to be paid. don't think I've seen many teams pay for two top guys at the position. just not really possible when you have so many other guys to pay..

Just my opinion though

Janoris was a pickup off of waivers, The Saints had to pay him $1.2 million for last season. The team can retain him and pay $11.25 million for next season. The other option is to cut him and work a new deal.

He was claimed off waivers

Slay wants to be the highest paid CB in the league. He’s not on our radar. We need to either bring Apple back or restructure Jenkins’ contract

Yeah Jenkins is not playing for the saints at 11mil
Still a good corner though.
He is 31 now I'm guessing he will be 32 by next year.
Going to be very interesting how Jenkins decides to move forward
