Didn’t we pay him a ton for an undrafted Free Agent & basically guarantee him a roster spot last year?

A ton for an UDFA is like 200k, 400k?

Not even a blip on the cap radar.

Another guy who woke up one day, realized training camp was starting and decided he didn't want to get hit or do a lot of running, especially in the heat.

I'm surprised more guys don't retire on the eve of training camp, especially after about 4 or 5 years of playing in the NFL.

No point worrying about it now.

I knew a guy in the Air Force who had played at BYU and spent one or two years on the Indy practice squad. He then went to the original XFL. He told me he had dinner with his wife and MIL after a game and was tearing up because he was in so much pain that he couldn’t sit. He decided it was a dream not worth chasing so he joined the AF, but had to get medical waivers to fly.

Point is…can’t blame a dude who tried but figured out it’s just not for them anymore for whatever reason, particularly if that reason is to avoid long harm to their body when they are just a camp body or roster long-shot.

Very true.

Most people who poo poo on players like this never had the courage or talent to even try.

Holker was an UDFA that played in 12 games in the NFL in his rookie/ only season. Caught passes and contributed not matter how little it was. I lol at internet dudes saying he was a nobody.
