No way any team takes a HB in the 1st, or at least that's what I've been told by some here.

Also, I would have stayed put and taken Hageman, Latimer, Jernigan, Su'a-Filo, Moses(assuming he could be moved to guard), Nix, or Matthews(reach pick).

Dropping back and taking Benjamin?

average LSU fan
Probably doesn't know more than 10-15 guys on LSU's team.

Above average fan probably knows the starters and some backups, and a few BIG guys from other teams.

Average CFB fan probably knows the star players and that's about it(maybe 2 guys on that list).

Above average CFB probably knows 5 guys on this list.

NFL fan has nothing to do with this unless they are also a draft freak or a CFB fan.

Fwiw I knew 3 names and I don't watch CFB at all and am a minor draft freak.

I said I was outvoted on this issue I don't mind trading down like we did, but passing Matthews, Allen AND Moncrief for Benjamin was plain dumb.

I'm not blaming you. Just the idea of taking Benjamin at all is nauseating, but early in the second?

Yeah they still had so may options for an early 2nd, so it wasn't the trade back itself. Could have still gotten a couple of the guys I mentioned I would have taken in the 1st.

link to this from reddit? I'm curious who went where.

Benjamin is not going to be a #1 WR in this league.

Guarantee it.

ooo

Would've went Matthews > Benjamin, SJB > Attaochu, Landry/Richardson > Breeland

in the 1st 3 rounds personally.

I like the Attaochu pick. You'd want 2 WRs taken in the first 3 rounds? I do agree about Benjamin tho

And to wildtigercat93: yes, yes they were.

This is pretty much the same thing as Twilight fan fiction.

Going into this season, outside of the draft, you have 2.5 proven commodities. An aging Colston, a young receiver in stills, and a meachem that has limitations. You don't know what Morgan brings because all you know is he can fall down to earth and be a burner, Tanner is going to be activated and sent to the PS again, and Toon who can or cannot pan out.

Colston's cap hit gets a bit heavier to swallow next year (9.7mil). Even if he produces his regular amount, chances are he won't be a #1 WR, but more of a #2. We'll probably keep him, but he could potentially be cap casualty if we say draft Matthews and he replaces Colston.

Jarvis is a strong receiver, good route runner, and this offense never had a kick arse dominant #1 receiver, but more of team work good route running and knowing your role. Jarvis fits that mold similarly to hold Colston fit it. Not overly fast, but physical and can block for the run game. He may not have colston's height, but he has the toughness and concenration that I think can translate into a lance moore type of role.

You could go into 2015 with the corp of:
Matthews
Stills
Jarvis
Colston (if he is kept)
Morgan (if he pans out)

As of right now, our holes are at C (no clear starter), #2CB, and OLB if anything. Attaochu would be a great pick, but I think in the 4-2-5 rob runs its more effective with another CB like SJB. The guy is a big physical freak and can hang with those tall receivers. I actually like him the most in the 2nd, but I honestly think he's gone.

I'm all for taking 2 WR in this draft, but taking 2 with our first 3 picks indojt necessarily agree with. Take SJB if you want with the third pick. I mean I liked the Breeland pick as well. He's a corner with good size.
