1. New Orleans Saints: Even though Brees is the quarterback, he's unsigned and unhappy. The bounty controversy takes away defensive end Will Smith for four games and linebacker Jonathan Vilma for the season. Head coach Sean Payton is gone for the season, and interim coach Joe Vitt is out six games. The schedule is another problem. In their past three trips to the playoffs, the Saints played the easiest schedule twice and the seventh-easiest schedule in 2010. Their schedule goes from .441 last year to .504 this year (a three-game difference). The NFC South is much tougher now with Cam Newton in Carolina and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' big splash in free agency.

I'm sick of all the negativity from the media... they use every chance they get to shite all over us.

Stuff like this helps me realize why New Orleans was left virtually untouched by the North in the Civil War - we didn't put up a fight because we didn't want to be a part of either region, we're unique in our own. (at least they burned Atlanta to the ground though)

Uhhh, if he is playing this year, he will be signed and very likely happy.

Clayton has been saying our offseason and the suspensions would cost us wins all along.

Or the Union had control of New Orleans.

I bet you didn't know that when Abe signed the emancipation proclamation by executive order it did not apply to the union states nor the River Parishes. Hmmmm?

But I digress...this is ST.

Plus his recent tweets about the bounty evidence shows he has strong feelings for his team.
I think he will find someway, somehow to be happy with 20 mil a year.
What the media don't have a clue about:
(1) Carmichael did a great job calling plays last year for several games, and will again.
(2) We replace Meachem with 2 tall rangy physical receivers in Arrington and Toon. What
this tells me is that Brees will be licking his chops with long 8-10-12+ play short passing game and running game drives to keep our D off the field.
(3) Our defense will be vastly improved with the DL trades and draft picks, the 567 new LB's :), and Greer and Harper teaching the new DBs.
(4) Our ST will be some of the best in the league again. 2 accurate kickers to choose from, Morstead is one of the best, Sproles returning kicks.
(5) The Dome will be """"""FRICKING OFF THE CHARTS LOUD"""""" Saints fans will NEVER forget the way our reputation has been (mostly) unfairly tarnished and painted. We will be out in FULL FRICKING THROAT. I cannot wait.......

He's actually a pretty knowledgable and entertaining poster. Falcon homer, but hey....at least he's 'true to his school.'

I love how the media thinks tragedies and scandals break teams. I could understand if we lost people who were actual contributors to wins. The only person I would be worry about is Vilma of he is healthy. Lofton will come in and maybe be better at the MLB spot. Hurricane Katrina couldn't stop the organization from putting wins on the boards with mediocre players. Now this teams has gotten better players on defense and Brees and Charmichael have had 6 years to get used to each other and the offense...they will just fine. The only thing that worries me about the coming season is staying healthy!

It pains me to say but Lofton will be a huge upgrade for you all at LB. I may go so far as to say he'll be the Saints best LB since probably 2008/2009 - if not the best in the last 10 years or so.

Tragedies definitely don't break teams but they don't necessarily help. I think the problem is 24/7 sports news/media. They've got to write about something weekly and it's easy to write a story about kicking the saints while "they're down".

If the Saints go the playoffs, all these reporters are going to have to put their foot in their mouth.

If they don't, it's not like these douches have predicted the end of the world or anything. With all thing considered, if they don't do well, they weren't really expected to.

I would have to say, from the reporter's standpoint, it's a bold comment to keep making on a weekly basis. If they win, you look stupid. If they lose, you predicted a team without their coach and starters to not do so well.

Lose, Lose.

Whatever. em

I think this is a useless point. There will always be a few teams who you think will be good but don't end up doing shite. You have to wait and see how it all pans out, just don't assume that because they had a good record last year, they will have another good one this year.

they are both still very young teams. It will come down to New Orleans and Atlanta again.
