Not much of a Tide fan, but I'm down with Ingram.

He still has to show it consistently. I'm glad he's running with fire for once in his career but I've got to see more.

No allegiance to Tide, but I roll that way when I watch Ingram play.

He makes me love the Tide.

One of the best players on the team. Breaks tackles left and right. The haters only hate for one reason. LSU. That's fine I guess.

LSU is great. Ingram is a great Saint from Bama

I was pissed off after the fumble vs. Seattle. The one against KC was just tough luck as the defender made a jarring punch Charles Tillman style on the ball. He wasn't necessarily being careless with the ball either.

I like it that he had a great game against a defense that's been sneaky good this year.

he also showed no signs of a letdown after he got his bell rung last week. Obviously.

Since 2015, he has played in 23 games. 12 of them he has had 4.5YPC or greater for a measly 52.2% of his games the past two years.

Take out his two largest gains this year (75 yard v SF and 61 from this game) and he still averages 4.4 YPC on the year. Unfortunately for him, he's going to have to settle for 2nd right now with 5.3 YPC, 1st among all qualifying RBs.

By comparison with "top 5 RBs" the past two years:
Shady: 22 games, 10 games >4.5 YPC or 45.5%
Freeman: 26 games, 9 games > 4.5 YPC or 34.6%
Bell: 14 games, 8 games >4.5 YPC or 57.1%
D. Johnson: 27 games, 12 games > 4.5 YPC or 44.4% (rookie season)
Murray: 27 games, 11 games >4.5 YPC or 40.7% (2 teams)

And here are fan favorites:
Hill: 27 games, 5 games >4.5 YPC or 18.5%
Ivory: 24 games, 11 games >4.5 YPC or 45.8%

So...how much more consistent are we asking for?

Those two fumbles sucked, no doubt.

Great numbers by htran above. The numbers show he's one of the best at not fumbling the ball too.

And where are the elusive rating, yards after contact, broken tackles stats?

Independent of o-line stats. He's great in all those too.

Stats are fun.

Here's some more:

Ingram has played in 73 games as a Saint.

He has only had eight 100 yard rushing games with just 3 of them coming against top 10 defenses:

1. Yesterday, he got 146yds against the Rams, the 20th worst rush defense
2. Earlier this year, he got 158yds against SF, the 32nd worst rush defense
3. In 2015, he got 143yds against Ind, the 9th best rush defense. Quality game.
4. In 2014, he got 172yds against GB, the 23rd worst rush defense
5. In 2014, he got 100yds against CAR, the 18th worst rush defense
6. In 2014, he got 120yds against SF, the 7th best rush defense. Quality game.
7. In 2014, he got 122yds against PITT, the 6th best rush defense. Quality game.
8. In 2013, he got 145yds against DAL, the 27th worst rush defense

In six years, his rushing TD average per season is only 4.8 TDs per year.
This year, Ingram only has 3 rushing TDs, tied for 27th in the league with Saints FB John Kuhn and GB QB Aaron Rodgers.
Compare that with Sean Payton's only RBC 1000 yards rusher, Deuce McAllister, who in 2006 started just 13 games but had 10 TDs.

By the way, this is NOT an LSU-biased/Anti-GUMP rant.
I was Ingram's loudest supporter when he got drafted.
With apologies to SFP (who hated the pick's value), I stupidly suggested he was the next Emmitt Smith!!!
Here's another foot-in-mouth post supporting this Chump.

We play back by committee and have a HOF QB. What an absolutely useless stat.

Deuce, a real RB, had the same set of obstacles and he managed 10 Tds and a 1000 yards.

(What a great picture, btw)

Ingram has never been featured in the offense the way Duece was.

ETA: And why are you going with per year instead of per game like a normal person? Not trying to make the numbers say what you want them to, are you?

That's the point of the post. People can wield stats anyway they want, like they have been done earlier in this thread in support of a guy who has only had 3 quality games in his entire 6 year career.
