So let's say the chargers finish around .500 with a pick around #17. Would you trade Payton for that?
I think I would, but I'd try to swap our 3rd in 2024 for their 2024 2nd also

Might work if there's multiple teams; but if Sean limits the teams he'll coach for, the return will suffer

Sean will be perhaps THE most successful HC traded when you measure careers before the trade. Belichick wasn’t nearly what he became when NE got him. Gruden nowhere near as accomplished as Payton.
The only one you could maybe argue is Bill Parcells going from NE to NYJ. He did have 2 SB’s at the time but not as good a winning % as Payton.
No reason we should not get a hefty return for a top 5 coach.
