No way Mariota and Winston are picks one and two. Tampa bay and Tennessee would be idiots to draft them then. QBs aren't in high demand this year besides a few teams and there are a lot of prospects. Winston won't even go in the first round.
The Saints need to draft an offensive lineman in the first round, DB in the second, and Scoobie from Arizona in the third

Tampa, Tennessee, Jets, Rams, Texans, and maybe even the Bears and Redskins are probably all top 15 and could go QB early.

Unless his interviews with teams reveal he's a psychopathy, which could happen, he 100% will.

He's a true sophomore

Round 2, Pick 41: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
The Saints have had major defensive issues this season. Some of their players can't tackle whatsoever. Meanwhile, the corners, particularly Patrick Robinson and Corey White, haven't been able to cover anyone.
Round 3, Pick 76: Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn
The Saints' starting center, Jonathan Goodwin, turns 36 in December. He'll be a free agent in March
I'm okay with that.

He's 6'0" 222lbs and arguably the best athlete at Safety in this class. Superb against the run, best covering from the box. He's the love child of HaHa and Barron.
I don't think he'll be elite in the NFL, but I think he'll be good. JMO.
you just described exactly what we had in roman harper. you are a bama fan so take the crimson glasses off.

I'm not high on any Alabama DBs or any Florida DLs.

Trade 1st pick for more picks please CSP.
We are thin...everywhere.

Easier said than done. There's not a lot of QBs or OTs that could slip and are worth trading up for, and we can't pass on an elite pass rusher if one is on the board when we pick.

Harper couldn't cover, and isn't the athlete LC is.
He won't be good right away, imo. But after a year or two? Boom.

I'd rather Dante Fowler or Shawn Oakman over Vic Beasley. And Lorenzo Doss over Collins. But other than that, the direction is solid.

The Pick: Danny Shelton, DT (NG) Washington
We need an impact player that can penetrate and disrupt with quickness off the ball. Shelton is also going to become a good pass rusher.
A nose tackle doesn't have to be this oversized, non-mobile player. Dontari Poe, Jurrell Casey and even Vince Wilfork destroyed that stereotype. Danny Shelton can help move past that perception, too.
The Washington defensive tackle has the size (330 lbs) to occupy the middle of the line, but he's quick off the ball and can be a penetrator in the middle of the line. Like Poe and Casey, he'll be a big impact as a pass-rusher once he acclimates to the pros.
The Saints need a run stopper and pass rusher. With Shelton we get both, plus he will demand double teams freeing up the linebackers. This is our guy.

I agree with trading out.
Unless there is a Landon Collins sitting there.

They better not even think about that. Vacarro isn't getting cut. How much are we gonna spend on safeties before we address the rest of the D?
