Brees even in his later years thrived because Mike Thomas caught pretty much everything thrown his way, Thomas needs to get between 12-15 targets a game. Olave a great route runner but is not going to catch very many 50-50 balls.

Thomas isn't what he used to be.
They need to start designing plays for Shaheed across the middle. Thomas needs to be a guy that makes a living against zone coverage. The days of him winning one on one are pretty much over.

Maybe the problem is our offensive scheme if the only way it can be run even somewhat effectively is with a borderline top 5 qb all time at the helm

Thomas looks to have lost 2-3 steps. He literally is never open. If he wasn't a great contested catch receiver, he would be out of the NFL.
