O line sucks but he has to stop holding on to it. Injury play is on him. He had plenty of time, plus it was 3rd and long. Throw it deep you’ve got nothing to lose.

Problem is, the line playing this bad is in his head. Hard for him to see his progressions. Jameis plays this way regardless of line play.

Oline sucked today and they already had two sacks on third down before his injury. But that sack was on Carr holding the ball for far too long.

I agree on the play he got hurt he held way too long. I think he was looking for deep ball.

He doesn’t move at all. He stays completely still. I hope to god he is ok for his sake and the team.

I like Carr a lot, but I have to agree. He needs to look to Thomas on the crossers more than just holding the ball for the long bombs.
And on that red zone play, he needed to throw to MT13 before he broke the route. Instead he threw to a bad pass late to Olave. He’s better than what we’ve had the last few years, but he could be better.

I disagree on that. He held it too long, but Ram didn’t hold his block long enough and there was a guy coming up the middle and another closing in from the left. He had nowhere to step up to and was going to get hit unless he threw it immediately.

You can’t expect even the best lineman to hold a block forever. 4 seconds is the standard for good pocket protection. You have to assume the pocket is going to collapse after 4 seconds and have some sort of awareness.

Don’t get me wrong….I’m not saying “Carr sucks” because of that play….I’m just saying that sack falls upon him. Same reason why the secondary gets some credit for what we call “coverage sacks”.
