Andy Dalton = tank. No one in the NFL, other than a delusional segment of the Saints fan base, thinks Dalton is anywhere near the zip code of Derek Carr.

Please use statistics to back this claim up because on paper Carr is basically a younger Dalton

Disagree with this part. Dalton had this team a game out of winning the division, and he didn’t play the first 3 games. Draft & FA can change a lot, but the NFC may also get weaker as a conference next season, which means the Saints could have an easier path to the playoffs.
And while the saints won’t match up we’ll with the better teams, there are ways the “right path” could end up with them only needing 1 win from a NFCCG and possibly SB appearance. Basically, shite happens in most years during the playoffs.

I can see Dalton getting this team to the playoffs, and maybe accidentally getting 1-2 wins. They’ll most likely get curbed stomped in the SB baring major injury to the other team, but this is a long winded response to say it wouldn’t be a tank.

Tanking would be rolling with Winston another year (I was hopeful last offseason) since he technically is still under contract; or reaching in the 1st round for a QB and forcing him into the starting role
