Damn you Drew Brees! If you had just taken a paycut and only wanted $5 million a season we maybe could have kept Nicks.

Truth. I'll be filling that gap Nicks left. I did pretty well at the combine.

Got some info on the structure of Nicks contract with the Bucs from PFT.

quote:

Finally, guard Carl Nicks received no signing bonus. He gets $25 million fully guaranteed and $6 million guaranteed for injury only, via base salaries and roster bonuses.

Strange that he didn't get any money upfront.

Dude, it's a job.
They only get to play for a few years, then they're unemployed again.

A job that they get millions of dollars a year to play football. At some point in time, they need to a cap to the max one player can make. Ticket prices are getting rediculous. Where does it end?

We all know its just a job, which is like saying these guys only care about the money, if it was about winning superbowls players would try to stick together to do so

Why does it matter, there is a cap for a team which naturally caps the amount a player can make without drowning the rest of the franchise. See the saints' current situation.

Ticket prices don't depend very much on player's pay. It doesn't end, that's the nature of successful businesses.

Newsflash: Freeman has a .600 winning percentage against the Saints.

He's a good young QB and the Bucs are going to be very dangerous this year.
Newsflash: No they won't. They'll finish last. And they are being stupid spending all this money on free agents. Only desperate teams do what the Bucks are doing right now.

Expect the "I wanna be the richest guard in NFL history" to nose dive starting this season.

Fat and happy.
