So put Ingram’s career in reverse and the pick was suddenly well spent?

I don’t think anyone expects to spend a first and second round pick on a RB and not get almost immediate stud production. So it is great he is on the team and playing great, but it looked bad the first couple of years.

The obvious argument against this is... Shouldn't the blame have been placed on Payton and Loomis, the ones who chose to draft him that way?

Ingram didn't force them to draft him with so many picks.

I think there has been a lot of hate on Payton and Loomis’s drafting miscues.

Obviously have looked amazing recently though.

I'm not seeing the overall argument here by most of these posters

People are literally trying to justify why they have a right to complain that Mark Ingram took too long to mature from being a top 60 RB into a top 5 RB in the NFL...

That's like complaining that your wife's whispering eye went Benjamin Button after child birth all the way back to age 20.

That's like complaining that some pizza place butchered your online delivery order and showed up unannounced with a bunch of corrected free pizzas after comping your initial order.

That's like complaining about watching your launch Xbox One transforming itself into a One X on its own.

Some people.

People forget that he was playing with an injured toe his first couple of years.
