Did you Carolina guys secretly tell Dan Moragan to sign with the Saints to try to break our defense even further (a few years ago)?

He retired from the Saints after one practice due to opening the mail and getting a concussion?...(prior to that...he was looked to as a savior at LB)

I think his attitude and maturity problems are the only thing standing between him and greatness.

Again...I don't know that we disagree.

He is a rookie. Check.

He can run the ball. Check.

He has put up big yard totals in a few games. Check.

Carolina asks him to throw the ball too much. I think so, especially with their RB's.

He has a terrible TD/INT ratio. Agreed?

That's expected, but also a product of his team. Check.

He will be a legit QB in the future. Debatable.

I don't see how he's looked immature or shown poor attitude so far.

I suppose we agree on those things, but it seemed like you were trying to say he hasn't played well for a rookie.

My main point was that posting Cam's youtube clips and stats shouldn't stike fear into the hearts of any team, much less the Saints.

Because, as we agree, he's just a rook. A rook that's prone to mistakes and who is being mis-utilized by his team.

I'm not sure that he is being misutilized. He's on pace for 5000 and is keeping his team in games. They don't have the defense, and he has to throw to keep up

His passing stats aren't a product of playing catch-up. They are a result of a pass-heavy approach.

They were up the entire Cards game until the 4th.

They were up on GB the whole first half, and then only down by 1 until the 4th quarter.

They won the Jax game. Surprise, surprise...the defense won the game and Cam didn't throw the ball up for grabs.

Never trailed Chicago by more than 5.

How did they get those leads?

The jaguars game was played in a monsoon

They don't run because they are pathetic at it. Newton has been spectacular for a rookie and is the reason they are competitive

Keep up was the wrong choice of words, I should have used compete

Play made by Olsen in the first vid at 4:32 was nasty. He will be tough to cover

I wouldn't say MISusing him. I'd say OVERusing. He's been great for a rook, but he's still going to throw picks and errant passes because he's a rookie. They really need to get their ground game going. If they do that, they'll have a very good offense imo.

Perhaps. This will be the first year in many if you are right.

Even with the best of QB's (Brees), passing too much will eventually lead to losses.

This is just about all that needs to be said about this.

What's scary is he's not really trying to run it and he still has 4 rushing TDs.....

We need to play very disciplined rushing him

Our running game has been slow to get going so far, but was a lot better against the Bears last week. I think we ran for 160 yards as a team (80 for Williams, 60 for Stewart, the rest for Cam).

I would expect us to continue to work on running the ball more. I can't imagine it's a long-term issue as we have essentially the same OL & RB's as we have had for the last 3 years. Plus, our run game has historically been slow to get started every year.

As for Cam's usage... I think he probably is being over-used to a degree due to the lack of a consistent run game so far, but this is also the offense we want to run. He's played so well we've been able to run the aggressive pass offense our O.C. has wanted to run without having to 'protect' Cam with a run game.

His TD/INT ratio is a bit skewed. You have to factor in the rushing TD's, which he has 4 of and also consider that 3 of those INT's came in the one game against the Packers basically during a rough single quarter, which he later rebounded from.

whats wrong with his attitude? he seems to be a good kid that is highly competitive. Every kid in college makes mistakes. His dad almost ruined his career and I bet anything he learned a lot from his Aurburn scandal.

Maturity? He handled himself well and won a national championship at Aurburn all the while dealing with that scandal that put a ton of pressure on him... and did it with zero starting experience in the SEC. thats impressive IMO.

Now he is starting as a rookie in the NFL from day one and showing great potential and leadership. He has kept the Panthers in every game they have played so far.

Is he cocky? yeah sure he is, but that translates into confidence from what I've seen. Does he love the spotlight? of course he does. but ever since the season started he has been saying and doing all the right things like a starting QB should.

with that said. frick Carolina and I hope Roman Harper smashes his baby face!

Perfect breakdown.

Exactly how i feel.
I dont think he will have tons of success, but he will be one of those QB's that keep his teams in the game only to lose it with a dumbass play at the end.

I don't see what you've seen that leads you to this conclusion. He hasn't led a 4th quarter comeback as of yet, right? That may be his biggest knock so far. As he becomes a vet, his decision making will get better and I think he's a good leader.

Well...
I guess i will be the sacrificial lamb on this one.
I will say what all are thinking but no one else has the nuts to say...

He isnt white...
Therefore he will not consistently make great decisions to win games whenn they are on the line.

Hammer me.. I know i know its taboo...

but honestly name another high profile non caucasion quarterback that has repeatedly taken
his team on his shoulders and won games ?

Mcnabb ?
Warren Moon?
Dare I say Vick?

Josh Freeman may be the best clutch no white young QB i have seen in a long long time.

Just sayin..
