Well that’s going to likely be disappointing for them isn’t it?

In reality if we take another step and get to 9-10 wins that would be a huge cause for celebration. Historical turnarounds are historical for a reason, it’s simply not common. They also had a damn near unprecedented ease of schedule in both the regular season and playoffs. Would it shock anyone if they dropped back somewhere in the middle to 8-9 wins this year?

Even our 05 to 06 turn around with one of the greatest qb/coach marriages in history was followed by a few seasons of below average play.

It’s not likey to be linear.

That 2008 team had some bad bounces. If Gregg Williams was hired a year earlier that would’ve been a 10-12 win team.

The key for us right now is Shough progressing and to keep hitting in the draft. I think there is more opportunity now than in those early Brees years with how dogshit QB play is for almost half the league. Defenses aren’t as good either.
