Yall are ridiculous. fricking blaming the cops already when nobody knows details. This is fricking America today. Like they would arrest him for no damn reason. Open your fricking eyes and do not automatically thinks the cops are shady and wrong.

It hurts to know that I wasn't causing no trouble and was fully cooperating. :(

Seems like an odd arrest.

He was booked at 5:50. I wonder what time he was actually arrested?

Sounds like a weak arrest and not a reason to cut him

Yet you're backing the cops without knowing anything.
Resisting arrest without another charge
That's why people are questioning the arrest

I don't understand how resisting arrest can be a stand alone charge. What crime did they have reasonable suspicion that he was committing in the first place?

No, let's always trust the police, and everyone else in charge.
That's the kind of America it should be!

I'm not judging guilt or innocence yet, but how can some of you not understand how it's possible to get charged with resisting arrest without committing another crime?

Ask this guy:
quote:
David L. Carter, a criminology professor and former police officer, says in most cases, it's an aggravating offense. But when resisting arrest is the only charge, as it is in the San Francisco case, Carter is puzzled.
"I question the legitimacy of that," Carter says. "You've got to have the arrest to have the resisting arrest!"
In New York, criminal defense lawyer and former prosecutor Nathaniel Burney believes the plainclothes policeman misspoke. "I think what he meant was 'obstruction of justice,' " he says. "Society has an interest in the police doing their job and catching criminals ... and you're not allowed to stop them from doing their jobs."

I doubt that charge will stick

Underhill just tweeted the story. Dixon was pulled over for "splitting lanes." I assume that means he was driving on the dotted line. When they pulled him over he was an a-hole and busted out the race card. Doesn't sound like he did anything worthy of being arrested, so it looks like both he and the cops fricked up.

@nick_underhill: Dixon was pulled over for splitting lanes while trying to make a U-turn. He then swerved and was driving in parking lane, passing other cars. Police asked for Dixon's ID. He said "You're seriously going to give me a ticket for that? I was making a U-turn" Dixon then said "Give me my ticket so I can get the f--- out of here." This continued. Dixon then said "You're just doing this because I'm a black man with dreads and I look like a criminal. I'm not a criminal." Cops said they were intimidated by Dixon's size. Dixon was "tensing and pulling away" when they tried to arrest him. Dixon then said "I'm not a criminal. I give so much to this community. I'm an NFL player. Let me call my agent"

Yea, I'm reading it now. He told them to give him the to ticket.
Not sure how that's resisting
