Did you read my posts? I've answered this but I'll reiterate.
He states no one should ever kneel during the anthem because to him it reminds him of his grandfathers fighting for our rights as Americans.
Are you saying he realizes that for most Black Americans that same flag represents a country that continues to violate their rights? He completely ignores the reason those choose to kneel and what it represents.
If he truly did care about the things his grandfathers fought for and equal rights for all, he would understand and agree with those kneeling during the anthem. At the very LEAST he would say he understands why they kneel, but he personally does not want to kneel.
Again, instead he says NO ONE should EVER kneel. Yes, this his opinion. We are discussing his opinion. Because that opinion is seen and heard by millions, represents a team, and a city. No one else here can say the same. So it matters.
Saying something that has racist overtones is either a huge oversight and incredibly dumb or just shows what he thinks.
I personally think Drew is incredibly naive and should really think about who he is affecting before he speaks.

Having this opinion does not mean you're a huge racist or don't care about black people, blah blah blah.
THAT is the issue.
Brees says he doesn't agree and thinks it's disrespectful. If we're all being logical and adults, Kamara/Sanders/Thomas should be replying say they also respectfully will agree to disagree, and that's that. Story over, we have a fundamental disagreement on that specific item, no biggie.

I think people completely misunderstood my comment. I do not support brees here. It was in reference to the freedom to kneel that those soldiers fought for.

Tomorrow Drew will issue that he is sorry, that he needs to do more listening from the black community, that he intended no disrespect, and he and his teammates will come together to combat racism full force
