I don't think it's happening but I was really surprised that the league caved so quickly on the officials. I think all the bad publicity is starting to get to the owners.

the owners caved because the integrity of the game was starting to be compromised. sean payton made his bed and now he has to lay in it.

goodell is playing the long chess game for the inevitable concussion lawsuits down the road

Ok Im tired of reading all the stupid arse peoples point of view on what the Saints should and shouldnt do even though the majority of them have never touched a football. We played a good game yesterday and if we keep playing like that we will end the season 11-5 / 10-6 so shut up already! Anyway I digress.....

I think that with everything that has happened involving this bounty shite that Goodell has to now clean up his mess so this is what I think will happen:

1. Get all our future picks back
2. Vitt will return after the bye week instead of the week after that.
3. Sean and Loomis will be back after week 8
4. All player suspensions will stay dissolved.

I just wanted to go on record saying this just in case it happens.

What do you guys think?

Man you are high.

I said before the season started that Payton would be back next Monday. That is, the day after the Chargers game. I still think this. I expect Goodell to come out this week and reinstate everyone as of 10/8. NFL would be stupid to keep pushing Vilma and his legal team. But Goodell is a stupid man, so what the hell do I know

Maybe the '85 Bears D will jump in the time machine and come take over for the Saints unit too. No way in hell Payton comes back before the end of the season.

has there been a definitive answer on this? everything ive been hearing says its 6 weeks, not 6 games.

so vitt should be back after the bye anyway.

thanks. thats what i thought. pretty shitty.

this season is pretty depressing. we are the highest scoring 0-4 team in nfl history. with any sort of defense, we would be in it.

Well if Goodell really does hate us as much as everyone seems to think, I could see him starting to freak a little bit if we're 0-8 thinking "frick, these guys are gonna get the number 1 pick."

Still don't think that would make him change his mind, but it would be interesting.

Lets say SP comes back mid-season, don't expect things to change much. He's not going to come back and all of a sudden cure all our issues. I wouldn't be surprised if he chooses not to come back this season even if he is reinstated.

I'm also going on record here and saying that barring some other scandal with the organization we get 2nd rounder back. Roger needs some positive pub.

He threw out the olive branch after this all happened. I really think he does it.

Does SP's return see a turnaround in Defense?

Goodells plan has worked better than expected and now he will allow Paton to return so that we don't get the #1 in the draft.
