This board does not like saints success anymore. It's really quite bizarre these days.

Just kinda indifferent. We are in purgatory. Good enough to beat awful teams but we won’t win anything meaningful. Some fans are just happy to participate and that’s ok I guess.

31 teams don't win it all. I'm not sure what the term fan means to you, if it means you are only not miserable when we are the best team in the NFL, then I guess you need to find a new team, sport, definition of the word fan.

Likely more related to understanding Allen, Carr, and company are not the long-term solution than a disdain for the Saints.

I’m glad we won. I always want the Saints to win.

But I think our best under Dennis Allen is just to be an above average team. At best. I’m not going to be super excited about beating a terrible Patriots team when our offense played well, but became ultra conservative at the end. It shows lessons were not learned and this group doesn’t fear losing their jobs.

So I’m conflicted.

There’s a lot of scenarios where I can lie to myself and convince myself we have a chance to pull something off. I did it through the washed Brees years and even lied to myself during the beginning of the Jameis experiment. I just can’t do it anymore. You guys are just better fans I guess

I think it just comes down to you can be a fan of a team even if they don't win a superbowl. If you are a new orleans saints fan, you should understand this more than most. Mid season, how is it enjoyable to just want everyone fired and get worked up about every failure, thats what the off season is for. Being that kind of fan where it's all or nothing each and every year sounds miserable, I would just stop watching sports altogether if I had that thought process because the vast majority of the time, my team will not win it all no matter the team, no matter the sport. Sounds miserable.

I think every fan board is the same. People mostly want to bitch and post hot takes. They’re not built for discussion.

Maybe in today's world. This board was amazing 10 years ago. Even when we had the worst defense in the history of the NFL, I dont remember every gameday being 100 glorified misery threads every commercial break, people were still actual fans of the team. Is it something isolated to this board? I dunno, maybe not.

Because going 7-10,8-9 and running it back with the same shite isn’t a win long term and just delaying it by another year. There is absolutely no hope of anything really other than beating REALLY bad teams with some wins over average teams mixed in.

You don’t have to be the best team, but it’s nice to know you’re building towards something. This just feels like a lame duck regime regardless of it maybe taking another year or so.
