I'm looking forward to preason to seeing Hill and Barrett get some reps in. Itll be interesting to see who gets the no2 spot. My money is on Hill. Hoping to see him get the majority of snaps. And I'd honestly rather see Barrett over Savage...shite even Brandon silvers

Who do you guys think will shine this preseason?

Savage will be the number 2. Hill will make the 53 because of special teams. And I hope we can somehow keep JT from getting poached off of the PS at some point. Would love to see what these 2 years under Brees would do for him as a pro.

Coming out of TC this year, I see Savage being the clear 2 to Brees.

I'd be surprised if Savage doesn't win the #2 job.

Didn't we just sign him to a 3 year deal? I'm pretty sure thats what CSP is intending to have happen, right?

If he is on the PS and someone else wants to sign him is it like a FA where he can deny it?

I don't buy the "Taysom Hill is Drew's successor" talk, but if he can't beat out Savage for the #2 spot then we are in real trouble.

I'm pretty sure that's the standard UDFA contract structure. I wouldn't read too much into that.

He could, but I don't see why anyone would. If the Saints liked him enough, they would offer him a spot on the 53 to keep him, as we did with Ryan Griffin a few years ago when the Rams wanted to sign him off of our PS.

Yeah personally I think Savage will be the #2 unquestionably and Barrett and Hill will battle for #3

and I think Hill will win

I'd be very surprised if Barrett ever makes it in a big way as a pro... much less makes it big enough to be a credible successor to Brees. I mean look, obviously no one is perfect, especially not pro scouts, but it would be pretty unprecedented for the entire league, top to bottom, to be THIS wrong about a guy who turns out to be an elite QB.

EDIT: Off the top of my head, I guess you have to go back to Kurt Warner. So... not totally unprecedented but pretty rare.

Tight ends are gonna be a great battle.

I'm really looking forward to see if Deon Yelder can produce in the NFL.

I don't think he can deny it but the team claiming him has to put him on their active 53 man roster. The way around it is putting him on our active roster if someone is looking to claim him.

Tony romo, and the back up for Dallas right now who looked damn good in the preseason last year were UDFA’s.

But to your point; Kurt Warner, Tony Romo, etc, didn't have near the college accolades that Barrett has. Having those types of numbers, playing in multiple CFP games, it would be absolutely shocking if ALL of the scouts and front offices got it wrong about this kid. Like everyone here, I'm hoping for the best in regards to what upside he may have, but for someone like that to go undrafted you almost have to think that upside is very, very, very limited.

Hill will be the #2.no one wants to give this kid the credit he deserves. Green Bay doesn't regret losing him for no reason..
