Follow me here for a moment. This is an article about the terrible game last night and how the ratings are tanking. What you need to do is skip through that noise and find this interesting little tidbit at the end of the piece:
Have you caught on yet? If not, I'll spell it out for you...
More Saints fans tuned in to watch ATL lose than Falcons fans tuned in to hope they would win!!!!
If that's not failure of a fan base I don't know what is.

In the meantime, here are a couple more NFL nuggets. One, last night’s game peaked with a 14.8/25 in the 9:30 – 9:45 PM ET period during the first quarter, which says a lot about viewership patterns. Secondly, here are the top ten local markets for last night’s match-up, with, of course, the Eagles’ hometown way up at the top:
1. Philadelphia 32.9/54
2. New Orleans 24.6/35
3. Atlanta 19.8/36
4. Denver 17.5/33
5. Milwaukee 17.3/29
6. Richmond 17.0/28
7. Norfolk 16.6/29
8. Dallas 15.8/29
9. Greensboro 15.2/26
10. Oklahoma City 14.7/25 tied with Albuquerque 14.7/24
Have you caught on yet? If not, I'll spell it out for you...

This would be an excellent post on the Atlanta board too

A few Atlanta fans in my social media feeds saying some variation of "we should have blown them out but ATL gonna ATL..."
I mean, I get thinking or hoping Atlanta would win (I kinda thought they would) but EXPECTING them to blow out the Superbowl champions in their home stadium the night they hang their Superbowl banner? I mean that's delusional.

I believe it was a few seasons back when the Saints were playing in Atlanta that Fox 8 set a news crew outside of a supermarket in Atlanta to ask their fans if they were excited about the upcoming game that day and what kind of snacks they were buying to watch their beloved Falcons trounce the visiting Saints and almost every customer save for 1 or 2 said they were not interested in the game or were not even aware where the Falcons were playing or who they were playing. Truly sad.
