Hmmm…..

How attractive is the Saints HC job ??

Let’s look at the facts and let them guide our decision:

— Salary Cap Hell …. a mere 50 million over the cap with NO END in site with current administrative regime.

— A General Manager (Loomis) who orchestrated this dumpster fire is NOT going to be fired.

— Scouts and GM have blown drafting evaluations and draft selections for many consecutive years. High draft picks not panning out. Interesting, none are being fired and remain.

— There are No… and I mean No … young position groups that show promise for the future.

— Roster is old with veterans…. Absolute and total rebuild of roster is required. Will take many many years to accomplish this task.

Now….. after you review these facts….

Conclusion:
It’s easy to see how the Saints head coach opening is the worst one available in the league at this time.

Pure and Simple

Bad cap situation is only unarguable unique disadvantage the Saints have compared to other coaching jobs. Open jobs are open for a reason. All have warts.

Chicago - arguably most difficult division in the NFL with Packers, Lions, and Vikings, have to play in bad weather, Caleb looks like he might suck, and horrible ownership which is about to get worse as kids fight over inheritance. Whoever hires you may not stay in charge for long.

Raiders - arguably worst owner in the NFL, just fired coach after one year who was set up to fail. No QB and not drafting low enough. Another very tough division to win in (Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos).

Jets - coaching graveyard for decades, intense media spotlight, a-hole intrusive owner (cussed out backup QB in locker room this year), no QB or path to get one, horrible team history overall.

Jaguars - stuck with GM Trent Baalke, and you better hope Trevor is actually good because he's being paid Top 5 money?

Saints - it's the cap situation and oldish roster. I know the fans hate Gayle, but the Saints (and Jags) probably have the best ownership situation from a coaching hire standpoint - mostly hands-off and patient. NFC south is an easy division to get wins. New coach may be on board with sucking for a season or two if it's part of a plan and he knows the owner will be patient.

Tigerbait2008…. You never seem to disappoint with your juvenile comments supported by your obvious lack of intelligence.

Don't forget you will have to travel the causeway to go to work every day because the city is a dumpster. We are gonna have to get second or third tier guy that over performs. Blame Mickey the most he's the one than made the team an unattractive destination to coach at

You have very good neighborhoods within minutes of the Saints’ facilities
