The Manning "hate" is so transparently lacking in reason that it's absurd. On a personal level, to the extent I've interacted with the family a little bit, they've been nothing but very nice and warm people.

To be fair, it's hard for other d-bags to recognize other d-bags in close quarters.

I've personally met every one of the Mannings and they all were pretty cool.

I agree but the piss poor ownership really screwed him over. Hank Stram was the best coach he had. IMO

First off, I loved Archie as a kid.

Second, Sammy you brought this troll thread on yourself bc you new what you were doing when you split hairs with your thread title. Saying "greatest" but not the "best" was asking for an argument and you know it.

As for Peyton. He can be an arse... like when he didn't shake anyone's hand after we beat him in the Super Bowl. Ive heard a few other stories also, but all around he is good guy and watching him play football is one of my favorite things to do. The Mannings all alright by me.

ETA: Drew is the greatest and the best Saint of all time.

Hey VOR, how old were you when Archie played? 78? 82?

You may. As long as you call.

It's a burden, but I owe it to my fellow man.

To the contrary, it's one of the most hetero things imaginable.

I am not sure that Archie Manning considers himself to be a New Orleans Saint, at this point in time.

Based on what he has said and how he has acted, my guess is that he considers himself an "ex"-Saint, at best.

I like the Mannings fine, but Archie's got nothing on Drew Brees

Anyone that says "frick the Mannings" needs to go frick themselves first.

Then we will pick it back up

I honestly have no connection to them. It was before my time. I started watching the around 87/88 when I was 5 just turning 6. To me it's just some guy that everyone said could have been pretty good, and it was a small piece of our history we didn't have to be embarrassed about.

Can you be specific? What did he do? How did he act?
