Um, you're here now.

BTW, how old are you Lester?

FWIW, I can't remember the last time I haven't watched a Saints game either in the dome or on tv. Prolly have to go back to the late 70's

No, seriously. I've watched quite a bit of Saints football and read as much on them as I possibly could. I just want to know why you think you are a more knowledgable fan

pretty much sums it up. I love that picture.

Hey lester, would you like me to make you a sig? Looks like you could use one. I've got a very creative mind. I was thinking of using that picture of you in your avatar.

Ok, don't answer then
You know why I like whodatfan and the others here? Because they, like me, are the eternal optimists.
Hell, I get pissed off at my uncle when he makes just a slight moan and is ready to give up in the second quarter when the saints make a bad play.
I remember sitting near my dad (RIP) when he went ballistic when Tom Dempsey kicked the 63 yd FG
I remember when, on the last play of the game, Danny Abramowicz caught a pass and in desperation threw the ball straight up in the air.
I remember when Archie Manning, in one of his many scrambles, threw the ball for a completion left handed and the announcers never even noticed
I remember Chuck Muncies long gains when taking it to the outside
I remember Tony Galbreith's one handed diving catch in the end zone
I remember Archie crying his balls out during their first ever MNF game in a heartbreaking defeat
I remember when I started hating the falcons with their hail mary tosses....twice in the same year
I could go on but my fingers are tired

wow. just wow. didnt realize the saintard convention was in town this week. good to see a few new members.

what ive gather from reading captain saintard whodattard and chad504tard is yards per catch and yards per carry matter more than anything else.

so, going by chad504tards logic on yards per carry, guys like derrick ward, kevin faulk, and tashard choice are better than guys like Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, and Clinton Portis.

why, you ask? their YPC are all higher.

And devery's 25 yard avg makes him better than Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, and Larry Fitz.

Whodatfan and Chad, the tribe has spoken. you are the weakest saintard. GOODBYE <british accent>

OK, so what does this make you, besides really old? If you share views of whodattard, Welcome to team Saintard (it's a combo of Saint and retard, in case you aren't hip to the lingo)

You really want to know what that makes me?

It makes me realize that you are one of those complainers that feel like they are above the fray because they are such good and knowledgeable fans that they can act like they're real fans because they see the flaws and aren't scared to point them out.

To the contrary, a real fan has no need to complain because we enjoy watching our beloved Saints, win or lose

You are an idiot. You can stop with all the "saintard" shite cause it's old and quite frankly makes you sound like a fricking dumbass prick. Go back and quote me on anything that I said anywhere in this thread about yards per catch, carry whatever. Chads argument was his, I never chimed in on that shite so what the frick are you trying to prove? My posts referred to how Devery has "come around" and how his game has gotten better. That's it. I stated how I think he could play the #2 role if asked to. Lester disagreed and that's fine. You two want to always take it to another level and that's fine too, but don't put words in my mouth nor include me in an argument that I never was involved in. Now, please remove yourself from our friendly forum. By your member date/post count, it's obvious you and frickstick Lester don't have a clue and come over here just to drum up shite like this. Now go back to oiling up each others assholes and play brown eye brigade with each other while you jackoff to your Lance Moore fathead.

I do like Devery, but I think some people are defending him a little too much just for the sake of argument. Is Devery a great deep threat? Yes. Does he sometimes open up the field because of this and other players get more catches? Probably so. But do Colston, Moore, Shockey, Reggie, and others make safeties lurk in the middle and 10-15 yards out so Devery can make those big catches? Yes, that happens too. So they help each other.

Saying that, I would say I'd keep Moore over Devery. Does Devery have better ypc average? Yeah, but doesn't make him better. Just means he's a deep threat. Of course he's gonna have a better ypc average. Like someone else said, are these scatbacks with a better rushing average better than AP, LT,Michael Turner, Portis and other top line backs? No

Good point. I agree with this.

and this somewhat. but keeping moore over devery? no. you don't just get rid of a deep threat receiver like him. not many possess the speed and ability to separate downfield like he does. i will have to disagree with you there.

I wasn't so much defending Devery but more arguing what constitutes a real Saints fan.

Having said that, I would be less surprised than you if Devery blossomed into our #1 reciever.

Wouldn't be easy, I admit, but it's not out of the realm of possibilty

Hard to find wrs who catch basically everything thrown their way, too. I think we benefit much more from Moore than from Devery.

I think, in order for Devery to be number 1, Colston and Moore would have to be injured. I just don't see Devery being able to be that number one guy who can be a position receiver and burn in when he has to. Maybe I'll be proven wrong though
