You do admit he's made some questionable calls and come stupid decision regardless of line play right?

Completely agree. Blaming our offensive woes completely on the O-line is a lazy excuse. Yes, they could be much better. But when you don't adjust your play calling you're going to continue to have issues.

i honestly think my explanation is rational he used to do that shite all the time.

it isn't because "he forgot how to put a drive together" or some retarted shite like that.

Dude he comes out on 1st down and calls a pass with every receiver going past 10 yards, constant deep routes, lack of any underneath passing game, abandons the run too quickly. He has gotten predictable.

He's been out of the game for a year. It's not absurd to think that he is rusty. He'll get his shite straight eventually. It's frustrating to watch him readjust to calling a game though.

Payton's gimmicky play calling is a result of exactly the adjustment you are talking about. The line is terrible so he's having to come up with unorthodox ways to move the ball, particularly in short yardage situations.

If you honestly believe this then we have much bigger issues than anyone could have expected. If you (and Payton from his decisions) are telling me we can't line up and convert a 3rd and INCHES, And I mean inches, that's just sad. Like I said before, Brees could have just fell forward for it, but he felt the need to attempt a pass and a reverse? Idiotic.

It's just even more maddening because of how incredibly well this defense is playing. We finally get a top 10 defense and our offense has looked incredibly out of sync. We can't sustain drives, it's either bust or boom.

Payton called the perfect play and he'd dropped the ball

If Payton was so convinced that it would be that fricking hard to get 5 inches then he should have just challenged the damn spot bc that was a 1st down anyway.

the proof would seem to be self evident at this point no?

4th and a nuthair: End around to 3rd string TE

If that doesn't scream "I don't trust my O Line to impose their will", then I don't know what does

Completely agree. My thread of hope here is that in 2011 we started very similarly on offense and ended up turning that around in a huge way. I am hopeful we can find a way to make a change this year as well.

Our running game isn't even that bad - that's what I don't understand.

Exactly my point. Even when you call the perfect pass play, you shouldn't need to in that situation. Because even the perfectly called pass play can be dropped, picked, Brees could be sacked. To be even thinking pass in that situation is loco

Sproles dropped a similar huge short pass last year at Green Bay.

Not in 2009.

I can still hear Bobby drunkenly and retardedly screaming "ring the Bell ring the Bell!"

You can't establish a run game if you don't hand off the ball. We've become predictable and one dimensional. The run game keeps the pass rush honest , increases time of possession and keeps their offense off the field. As soon as Sproles was knocked out of the game we should have gone more to the run.

Maybe in 07, 08, and last year. Because in our best seasons we pound the rock.

I don't understand where this impression that we can't convert third and inches comes from / we got it in Chicago plenty of times. ditto vs Miami and Arizona. when was the last time we've been stoned two consecutive times on less than a yard? Ingram the pussy way back in week 3? Fine but he sucks and we have other backs.
