By all accounts he looked shakey in the slot during training camp but this season he's been one of our most consistent players.
Even when he gives up plays I forgive him because of how fast he plays. I love his physicality and how much enthusiasm he shows when he makes a play. The defense feeds off of that.

He seemed a little pissed at getting the slot in camp but is really shining. Maye coming back is another nice boost.

If there's one thing DA gets consistently right, its talent in the secondary. Corners and Safeties developed by DA as DC/HC for the Saints:
Vonn Bell
Marshon Lattimore
Marcus Williams
C.J Gardner Johnson
Paulson Adebo
Alonte Taylor
If we had someone with the same talent at drafting DEs, this would be the #1 D in the league.

Hopefully Howden will be next on that list.

We had Hendrickson, who would have been the perfect compliment to Cam Jordan, but I guess the FO felt they had invested too much in Davenport to admit they got it wrong. Should have jettisoned him and kept the DE who actually sacks quarterbacks.

I guess truth earns downvotes here. Upvote from me. We were dumb as hell letting Hendrickson go. We should have found other fat to cut besides what would likely be our best pass rusher for multiple years, now our sack total reflects that.

I know he'd prefer to be a #1 or 2, but it's fair to say Adebo is pretty legit also. Teams try picking on him and seems to always get a pass break-up or int...... and sometimes a PI

What I did not get was a few reporters that kept trying to hype up a CB2 battle (though there never was one and I don't recall any coaches ever even hinting at one, and that's not even anything against Taylor, but Adebo is just that good) and saying that Taylor was not a slot CB. I listened to Ross Jackson's "Locked on Saints" podcast and he mentioned it a bunch of times bluntly and almost arrogantly even stating that "Taylor's not a slot guy, he can't do it, it's not going to happen" but he never would say why he thought that. Seriously I saw no less than 4 episodes of his podcast where he stated something along those lines and he never, not once offered any reasoning for it. What I saw from him in preseason in the slot was no different than what we saw from him on the outside last season. You saw guy full energy and has some swag about himself who was eager & willing to step up against vet WRs and not back down. He made several plays but also gave up several plays, none of which would seem to have faired any different if it was from the slot or outside. He's an effort guy with a great attitude for it. Naturally being in year 2 he's making progress, even though it's at a slightly different position, and I am freaking pumped to continue to watch him grow.

He is the reason we got rid of CGJ. And this board melted.
and he’s better than CGJ.

This is the number 1 defense in the league.
