Were better than our guys that won't make the team. The rest of the game the Saints were the superior team and the coaches saw what they needed to see.

Though Houston may have been playing guys that DO make the team.

If the Saints starters played against Houston’s starters, saints win this game by 13-17 points.

No y’all reading too much into the responses. People were only complaining about how fricking terrible book is. And they were right

A significant number of starters were out for the whole game, Our backup QB only played 1 set of downs and marched the team down the field methodically for a TD.

But if the Saints have any one of these things happen they probably still win:

1 - Book settles in quicker and doesn't have those two initial turnovers

2 - Trequan Smith could actually catch a ball in his hands

3-The third or fourth string RB doesn't hit a pile of defenders with the ball only marginally protected.

But the biggest part of preseason game #1 is determining if your cut list is appropriate. It's about evaluating which marginal players stay on the roster, which end up on the practice squad, and which hit the pavement.
