The 2 teams that beat us out (Bucs and packers) are in the divisional round. The saints have only made the divisional round 8 times in their history. Who knows, but had Carr not got injured in GB, we might have beat both in weeks 3 and 4. I would be thrilled with a divisional round season. Maybe we can keep Carr upright next season and get there

now do their contracts

The Carr move was made for Mickey and co.'s survival, not as a missing piece to contend for a championship.

Carr with a better OC is an above average QB. What failed us this year was Allen and Carmichael. We had enough pieces in pace to make a playoff run this year, and terrible coaching ruined it.

He has a rather large body of work that says this is not true. Average? Sure. Above average? Nah

What metric are you basing this claim off of? Even this year, he's top 13 in Yards and TDs. He was top 10 in passer rating for QBs that played the full season.

And that was with trash arse Carmichael running the offense.

The main problem this year was taking 12 games to start playing your best football.
Maybe that changes with the change at OC who knows. Also Carr is another year older and must learn another new OC. I think Carr had his typical Carr season. 10-15th best QB and no playoffs.

So some teams are 9-8 bc of "team excellence"?

Yes.

Cincinnati went 9-8 and lost Burrow for half the season while playing in a division with three other teams that made the playoffs. That’s pretty damn good.

Theres more to football than single season passing yards. Sometimes qbs need to put the put the ball in the endzone and win games.

Lets not compare Carr to Hurts, Burrow, Lamar, or Wilson for so many obvious reasons. All are proven winners and mvp caliber players who have already accomplished more in the sport of football than Carr ever will.

Derek Carr played much better football at the backhalf of the year. In a season where he didn't look too comfortable in the beginning and then a year he battled through many injuries.

I do like some of what the Saints are bringing back.

They have to get an elite edge rusher this draft. Helps to fix some cap issues by letting Turner walk and hopefully Jordan retires after 2024.

Dream pick is Dallas Turner or Laiatu Latu. But that stupid end of season win may cost the Saints that pick. Instead look for a reach OT.

He was better than what we were used to. Nothing to write home about but he was better. Lets not forget how incredibly easy our schedule was tho

You’re out of pocket with Demario Davis. He made the pro bowl again, lead the team in tackles, and was second on the team in sacks. The issue is the lack of leadership at the top. It was lazy to hire Allen as HC. It was lazy of him to not field a true dynamic, playcalling OC.

Ok, he was 11th in rating out of all QBs this year. That's even better

Last 6 games passer rating...
105.5
88.5
134.8
106.1
111.1
145.5

That's very good. You just can't even look at him with an open mind... you've made your mind, and that's that.

I didn't bring up payroll as a performance indicator or who got the biggest bang for the buck.
