I still love the Hornets as much as I do the Saints - I just care a lot about national perception. I always find it amazing that the LSU diehards love LSU baseball as much as they do LSU football. To be honest, I don't give a rat's arse about LSU baseball. I literally could not care less. Because nobody in America cares about it. That's the same rationale I have with the Saints v's Hornets. Obviously the NBA is big, but it is dwarfed by the NFL. And so the Saints have to take precedence over the Hornets to that same extent.

Hornets win.
I would rather be in the situation we're in now with a (unlikely) chance to win the SB than have a guaranteed SB loss, so the Hornets NBA Championship would be golden.

Are you kiddin? Man, the Saints in the SB in a heartbeat! I would send the hornets packing for just one SB appearance for my Saints. The dude who started this re-fricking-tarded thread is so bias to the hornets it's really comical. Just look at the avatar and sig pic. I'm a bigger Saints fan than Hornets fan by a pretty big margin, and I would consider a SB loss to be a very successful, exciting season. But it's not THAT great of a thing. Let me ask this: how many players for all but the worst of NFL teams do you think would trade where they are now for a guaranteed SB loss?

FWIW, I've told all the guys at work (all of them are from cities that have both NFL & NBA teams) about this thread and about the fact that about 30 Saints fans said the same thing to me yesterday, and they can't believe you people. "That's why they'll never win a SuperBowl" seems to be the general perception.

What good does it for me to want the Hornets to win one and the Saints to never have one?
Maybe you should ask if you had a choice between the Saints making it to the Super Bowl and winning and then not making it again for 50 years or the Saints getting to the Super Bowl 4 times in a row and not winning.
