A fair criticism is what led up to the Rams game

Normal practice schedule. Then a joint practice with the cowboys which was unhinged. Then a joint practice with the Rams. Then the game in Los Angeles.
I feel it was too much and yeah we can say “they’re pro athletes and blah blah blah” but they are million dollar investments for a 17-game season. I think the team was too run down and it showed on Saturday.
No, this game has no indication how the season will go. No we have not seen the saints actual offense or defense. Yes I expect us to be improved from last year, but more of the 8-9 win improvement.
So yeah, my stance is Moore and Company need to take a long look at the practice schedule and not overcommit to joint practices in the future.

The schedule for this training camp has been suspect

I'm not sure if true but someone said Rams actually had a couple of rest days where Saints had none.

I mean it’s a valid criticism if it negatively impacted how the actual team that will play on Sundays performs. We won’t know that for a couple of months.
All we know is that the players on the field yesterday, many of whom will never play for the saints in a real NFL game or will play very sparingly, were not served well by it.
Kellen’s entire approach to the preseason has been that the preseason games themselves are almost solely to evaluate end of roster and practice squad spots, not for the actual team.

After watching that game, I believe we can get to the 53-man cutoff by Monday afternoon.

Having "friendly" scrimmages with teams that potentially hate each other or just want to prove that they're better or more physical or can dominate the other,..to show that they're ready for the season, can be a problem. We already have injury risk with preseason games.
