2017 Saints Opponents (now finalized)

Figure now's a good time to start getting a closer look at next season... so here are our 2017 opponents
Home: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, New England, NY Jets, Washington
Away: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Minnesota, Miami (in London), Buffalo, LA Rams
Still a lot of shuffling to be done over the last 2 weeks of the season, but right now those last 2 opponents would be the Redskins (home) & Rams (road)
I will update as we close in on those last 2 opponents
ETA: after week 16... our final 2 opponents would still be Redskins (home) & Rams (road)
looking at it... while the Redskins and Rams seem locked into their places in their respective divisions... the Saints may be able to move up to 2nd place in the South with a win and Tampa loss... which would then make our opponents the Giants (home) & Cardinals (road)
ETA2: Tampa beats Carolina... Saints will definitely finish 3rd in the division... which closes out our schedule with Washington & LA

That's a very favorable schedule, but then again I was saying that this year.

Edit: shocked people are downvoting this. Y'all thought this schedule was easy this year when we had to play the obvious best division in NFL with the Super Bowl champs, a good Chiefs team, an improved Raiders, and a possibly healthy chargers team; a much improved Giants team and the lions team we lost to last year; two of the Super Bowl favorites in Seattle and Arizona; and two games against the 15-1 Panthers and an improved Bucs team?

I'd make the trip over for the Patriots game.
but other than that there isn't a great draw of home games outside the division games.
I went to the Redskins @ Saints game in 2006... meh.
Nothing much to get fired up for that day as far as that game but on the way home heard the news we'd wrapped up the division (or a playoff spot) can't remember.
bittersweet.

Roger will make sure Green Bay, Buffalo, and Washington are after Thanksgiving

Can't wait to see Brady back in the dome

Green Bay, Minnesota, and Buffalo away may be an issue depending on weather at the time. Outside games in frigid areas has not been kind to New Orleans teams in the past.

Would be funny if we played (and won) the Rams' last home game in the Coliseum. For the second time.
We're not catching Atlanta and Tampa likely, so the only other choices are Philly and San Francisco if Carolina catches us.

Minnesota plays in a dome so weather won't be a factor.

14 Guaranteed opponents
Home:
Atlanta
Tampa Bay
Carolina
Chicago
Detroit
New England
NY Jets
NFC East #3 or #4
Road:
Atlanta
Tampa Bay
Carolina
Green Bay
Minnesota
Miami (London)
Buffalo
NFC West #3 or #4
As far as the two undetermined games are concerned, I'm not sure who has the tiebreaker between New Orleans and Carolina. If the two teams end up tied, hopefully we are considered the #4 team and reap the benefit of playing the 49ers (West #4).
2017 will mark the third year in a row the Lions play the Saints in New Orleans, but after the last two, I'm sure they don't mind.
Green Bay and Buffalo pose as potential cold weather games, but the last two times we played at Green Bay (2011 and 2012), we played them in September on both occasions. The last time we played in Buffalo (2009), we played them in September as well.
Washington or Philly (depending on if we finish #3 or #4) will be a home game, so no cold weather threat there. In the only away game yet to be decided, it's either going to be the Rams or the 49ers. The Cardinals could fall to the three spot, but it's doubtful at this point. LA definitely won't be a cold weather game, and SF will be fine in the fall (I'd be more worried about cold temps in SF if the game were played in July).

bump for edit in OP with updated information

important note...
if the Saints beat ATL and TB loses to CAR then the Saints finish in 2nd place in the division and draw the Giants & Cardinals as the final 2 opponents

also... we have the tiebreaker over Carolina... so the worst we can finish is 3rd
better record vs. common opponents
they lost to Seattle, who we beat... only difference in common opponents

also... since we know the London game is either week 3 or 4... guessing we're on the road the week before against a division opponent or Buffalo
and another early season bye week for like the 3rd straight season... the week after London

Bump as our final 2 opponents are now known. Tampa's win against Carolina clinches a 3rd place finish and a meeting with both the Redskins and Rams next season

I'm fine with it. Both winnable games

I'll be making the short drive up to LA next year!
