Remember when you said this was something you'd be able to play with for years? Funny how the shoe is on the other foot now and you're the one losing your shite over about being called out for how wrong you were. At this point, all it took was 4 words, and you've completely become unhinged.

quote:

Cant wait to hear more about how Zion is just nothing but a lazy POS
We've reached the part where you make things up that I never said attribute them to me. Again, just making it more and more obvious that you know you were wrong and can't handle it, so now you're just lying.

You should be embarrassed right now, such a bad look for you losing your shite over one simple line.

Awful effort.

Dont' sweat that poster.

He called me about a million different names for days and days because I called out Zion's effort on defense the 1st 10 or so games of the season.

Then low and behold, these past couple of weeks or so he has started saying Zion shows a lack of effort on defense.

Zion really didn't do anything, that's the problem.
This all day

He jogged over to a spot standing straight up, not in any defensive position ready to make a play.

The ball swung, and he jogged right back to the other spot not in any defensive position ready to make a play.

You’d like to see him fly around more, same with anyone not named Adams/Lonzo(most nights), but if we were focusing on Hart on that play as well, you could say the same there. Should have put more effort into his drop since he should know that’s his adjustment to make regardless of what Zion does in that PNR once that pass is made. But like Zion on that play, just calling it an effort issue ignores the larger context.

It’s lazy, reductionist analysis

Hart has earned the benefit of the doubt. Zion, not so much.

And you don’t know what Hart’s assignment is there. You’re assuming that he’s supposed to drop on that pass. Super, super lazy of you not to consider his assignment may be different. Super lazy. And also, Hart probably expects that Zion is going to give a shite and get back, hence the delayed response.

To be clear this thread wasn't meant to blast Zion or say he is never going to be good. I think he will get better and better defensively.

Just highlighting a bad play from the other night and what people are talking about.

Right, good clarification.

It does seem that any time you say 1 thing about Zion that he doesn't or didn't do well, it feels a lot like the Zo stans in that we now have Zion stand creeping up on Pels talk.

He’s already gotten better defensively. He makes good rotations sometimes and has moments where he’s a real solid on-ball defender.

Doesn’t matter how much you learn about what the right play is if you don’t give any effort to achieve it, though. And too often with Zion, he gives zero effort on a play.

That was the thing that worried me the most on that play. He gives zero effort sometimes, just like Harden.

I need to see his energy get better and better and better.

He had a solid 3 or 4 game run around the 12 ish game mark, but recently, it seems that hasn't carried over or continued, and he's reverting back to the effort we saw earlier in the season.

Losing can take its toll on everyone. When you just lose and lose and lose and others on the team lack effort, its hard to keep your own activity level up.

It is difficult to defend a 3 level scoring PG with elite speed in the P&G with solid spacing. One of the hardest play for a young player to defend. It's demoralizing as the game progresses.

You're seeing it in his body language. This part of his growing pains. The highs are high and the lows are low especially on the defensive end.

We've played a lot of great scorers off the P&R action up to this point. Lowry/VanVleet twice, Mitchell twice, Brogdon, Oladipo twice, and Fox twice all in less than 20 games. That's a lot of really difficult defensive assignments for a this team. It isn't just one player, They're all ineffective which is why these guards end up torching the Pelicans.

Yes indeed, our most retarded Zion reductionist himself, Shel, gracing the thread with his presence! Cant wait to hear more about how Zion is just nothing but a lazy POS on both sides of the ball...Or do you want to go for round three where you pretend you didn’t hyperventilate like a fricking man child for three pages because you got into your feels after the Saints loss while Zion was amusingly eating another teams lunch and shitting all over them during a game you weren’t even watching?

This all day.

LOL

Funny enough, the same scenario with Zion eating a teams’ lunch is happening right now. He’s at 28/7 so far in what looks to be a likely win over the Suns.

Go ahead and melt about the kids defense tho! Hahahahah

As for the play, I mean NAW let himself get forced under a screen and has historically struggled with screens, Zion arguably made the right read and react there. He just, like he has done before, over committed on the help and NAW actually did a good job recovering despite getting pushed under the screen.

Yup. Pick and roll defense requires two defenders communicating.

Naw is equally to blame. For all we know
SVG wants Naw to switch and he didnt, etc.

There’s a multitude if reasons why this clip means nothing.

Negative. Im probably known on here as one of the biggest Zo bashers on the board.

Your just an idiot who cant comprehend that Zo and Zion are not the same. Not even close.

Defending Zion is NOT comparable to idiot Zo defenders.

If Zo drops 24/8 for his career and gets bashed I’d defend him - but he’s a career 12/6/6 guy at best.

By the way Zion put up 28/7 and the Pels won dumbass!!!! Go cry now. Zion proving you a moron hurts doesnt it? Wipe you vagina and go to sleep.

Zion bashers are the same idiots that have always littered this board, like yourself! I’ll bet you bashed BI last year. And AD before him.
