With all teams having 8 games, Pels, Kings and Wizards play 1 game less than Spurs, Suns and Grizzlies and 2 less than Blazers on the season. You would think they would have tried to equalize that somehow.

its a travesty.

i fart in silvers general direction.

the 1/2 game makes it less likely there is a tie for 8th.with griz. its intentional. pels and kings are screwed by this.
also less likely tie for 9th. grumble.

they finished October 7 (would likely finish earlier, though), they’re getting roughly 7 weeks off before training camp on or around thanksgiving. Players get less time off in Olympic years.

oct 15 set for draft.

Does Memphis get all of their forwards back from injury?

Portland should get their big men back in time, right?

looks like.

we will know more after a few scrimmages.

memphis media has new trade guy justice winslow 6 6 sf as starter. moves
no-offense-anderson to deep bench as josh jackson was playing well the last week.
a real upgrade. justise can shoot from anywhere and has good handle.
brandon clarke was about ready to play.

portland is legit challenger to win it all, no less get to 4 back, if their two big guys are 100%.

What happens if the Pelicans get a gauntlet in those 8 games, Lakers, Rockets, Bucks, 76ers, etc and after 5 games they’re done. Do they tank at that point?

someone td posted schedule yesterday. its as scheduled but no teams not in this 22 team last 8 games.
so Sacramento next.
2 with memphis.
everyone will be against good teams.
the bad ones are home watching on tv.

theres some benefit to tanking if indeed out of the 4 game zone early.
non playoff teams will be in lottery.
run hayes and naw out there.

so we legit have to have a BETTER record than portland to pass them cause the NBA is moronic about the tie-breakers and is actually using win%

Yep. Tim Bontemps tweet:

Two things that were unclear about the NBA’s tie-breaking procedures have been clarified: the usual standings tie-breakers will be used, and winning percentage will be what determines who is in each spot in the standings, according to a league source.

Only one problem when it comes to Portland winning it all. They gotta get past Dame’s daddy 1st.

Christian Clark tweets a good way to think about it:

quote:

We know now two things if the Pelicans want to make the play-in tournament:

- They'll have to win as many games as Memphis

- They'll have to win more games than Portland

and one more than sacto or be in a tie decided by God knows what.
