Kawhi Leonard could be available for the San Antonio Spurs as early as Thursday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell ESPN's Lisa Salters.
The plan for Leonard to return is barring a setback from a right quad injury, sources told ESPN. He said earlier this week that he planned to return "soon" from the injury, which has kept him out of all but nine games so far this season.

Of course he will

Meh he will be on a minute restriction. We can win

Looks like no help from Orlando tonight, OKC is now 5th, SA is 7th, and LAC has a half game lead on Denver and Utah for 8th.

Win the next two and we are back on track

IMO Pop send him the meassage earlier ('he will be surprised if Kawhi plays this year').
Since then there were remarks about his shoe deal and his first press conference.
And it worked.
Personally did not expected anything other.
Looking at SA they have long stretch (6) of home games. Pels game is second in this stretch.
With Minny and Warriors as next two.
When is the best time for absent player to return? At home. Especially on a long stretch.
We have to deal with it. Good that he had played last time on January 13th. Even the best and healthiest player wont be full strengh without restrictions after 2 month absence.
It sucks. Agree. But Pop planned this. I am certain.
It sucks that within 7 Spurs games against teams fighting for PO - 2 games are against NO.

That sucks. Any word on AD’s status today?

Still have some basketball ahead of us. I predict some pleasant surprises

Lots of NBA news today:
Spurs LaMarcus Aldridge, Manu Ginobili, and of course Kawhi Leonard are out tonight against the Rockets. Pelicans play the Spurs 03/15 and it sounds like they are resting up for that game
Celtic’s Marcus Smart is out indefinitely with a torn tendon in his right thumb and Celtics Kyrie Irving is considering taking extended rest for his knee. Pelicans play the Celtics 03/18
Mavs Wesley Matthews fractures his right fibula and will be out the remainder of the season. Pelicans play the Mavs 03/20.
It would be huge if both Kyrie and Smart were out when we play the Celtics and Matthews was out when we play the Mavs, esp because we play these teams within 2 days of each other. Could make those wins much easier which would help us to find some rest during this crazy March schedule

So I'm on an 0-2 slide with the game thread. I'm still starting the next one but if we lose to Charlotte I'm out.

I hate the Rockets so much.

So we split the games important to us. Rox took care of spurs but kings couldn't beat okc
Posted on 3/12/18 at 9:27 pm to Ancient Astronaut
OKC beats Sacramento and jumps ahead of us into the 4 spot. The 5 seed Pels need to beat Charlotte to keep pace. Especially if the Spurs rested up to go hard at us.

Spurs and Clippers have the hardest remaining schedule of the playoff contenders. We just gotta stay above 500

Sources: San Antonio star Kawhi Leonard is expected to remain out through Thursday’s game against New Orleans. He plans to continue evaluating the quadriceps injury for a hopeful return.

TBW just retweeted this
Kyrie has a knee and isn't expected to play Wednesday. It'd be nice if he stayed out through Sunday.

would be huge considering we play Dallas after Boston and Dallas will be easier with Wes Matthews done too.
Could give us some added confidence going into the brutal stretch of Houston, Blazers, Cavs, & Thunder
