Not a Monty apologist but, barring injuries, the Pelicans make the playoffs next season and buy Monty more time.

My point is that I think the team will make the playoffs if healthy, in spite of Monty. Is that better?

The truth does not make one an apologist. Do you think this team, if healthy, doesn't make the playoffs? If no, do you think the Pelicans fire Monty after making the playoffs?

No, the only statements they want to hear are "Monty sucks," "Fire Monty," etc. Anything else, no matter how rational, will not be tolerated.

He'd have to meltdown hard in the 1st round, which, knowing Monty, is not impossible. Davis will save him his job (on the court) until Davis tires of him.
