Ok man.
Trey played the wing, when we had 4 other wings in the game with him.
Does that sound better to you?

Trey plays 2-5. And he did last night. I'm not sure what you're going on about.

Trey played 30 minutes
He shared the court with JV/Zion for 1:02.
He did not share the court with Zeller/Zion.
So he played 1 minute and 2 seconds at the 3 last night.

Just b/c Trey is covering Huerter, while BI covers Lyles and Zion covers Sabonis, doesn't mean Trey is the wing in that lineup. He's simply a better perimeter defender than BI. It really doesn't matter who you consider is the wing or the big in that lineup, they all have to pull their weight defending every position and rebounding as a team when they go small ball, and I thought they did an awesome job of protecting the paint as a team and rebounding as a team when they went small.
There was a play late in the game when we were going small where CJ just got a hand on a contested rebound from Javele and another Pelican was able to corrall it. Great team rebounding, and all it took was a little effort from CJ. It was awesome to see that from everyone last night, BI and Zion included, especially BI though late in the game.

His assignment was Monk a good bit in the second half and Monk was guarding him as well. Whether we're hiding CJ or BI on Barnes or Lyles, Trey was working the wing a bit. Herb and Naji played a bit of 4 last night as well as Naji always subbed in for Z and Herb was used as a high post presence on offense.

Trey only playing the 4-5 is a myth. He played everywhere.

If you go on the Pelicans NBA.com site for stats, it has a breakdown of who everyone guarded and their stats. Pretty neat to see.

For instance, this is how Fox was defended during his 40 minutes on the court:
Herb guarded him 44% of the time. 11 points on 5-10 shooting, 1 assist and 1 turnover. Shot 1 FT.
Jose guarded him 13% of the time. 5 points on 2-4 shooting, 0 assists and 3 turnovers, no FT's
CJ guarded him 13% of the time. 6 points on 2-5 shooting, 1 assist and 0 turnovers. shot 4 FT's
Dyson for 8% of the time. no shots taken, no assits, no turnovers, no FT's
BI/Naji/Trey each at around 4-5%, about 14% total. 0 points on 0-4 shooting, no assists, 1 turnover, 0 FT's

Zion/JV each had about the same time covering Fox equaling 8%.
9 points on 2-6 shooting, no assists, no turnovers, shot 6 FT's.

Trey didn't really guard one guy. He guarded everyone.
Huerter was actually who he defended the most, just 21% of the time.
Monk at 17%
Barnes at 15%
Murray at 14%
Lyles at 10%
Vezenkov at 7%
Fox at 7%
Ellis at 5%
Sabonis at 3%
Mcgee at 1%

Herb on the other hand spent 52% of his time defending Fox, and 15% each on Monk and Huerter, with Sabonis at 8% and Barnes at 6%
Dyson only played 6 minutes, but spent 80% of the time on Fox and Monk, and even 7% on Sabonis.

So basically Herb is the tasmanian devil guarding everyone.

all I know is he can’t play with Jose on the floor as well. I’d rather just not play Jose

This aged well. Amazing how quickly people forget how huge Jose has been for us. Last night was a perfect example of how his energy can change a game.
