This isn’t a prime AD or CP3 where they just want to play winning basketball.
You’re right, that’s why AD went for 3 young players, 3 1sts, a pick deferment, and a swap.
I didn’t say we’d get that, I said that’s what I’d ask for. As frustrating as Zion is right now, it would be dumb to trade him with his value at it’s lowest. It’s worth the risk to wait to see if he can build his hype up again and then move him the next chance we get.
Either way, management has to know that he is no longer part of the long term future plans

I disagree with you here. It is not worth that risk. And with Zion Im not sure how much he would raise his value and when he does- Griff wont trade hin. Its an endless cycle which will continue the misery.

I’m looking for at least salary relief, a promising young player, 2 good 1sts, and a swap.
Depending on the team and the young player, that could fluctuate. My first calls would be to the few franchises that are just as dysfunctional as us that maybe desperate for some buzz like Chicago, Detroit, or Charlotte
This seems dead on. I mentioned before, but I like Brooklyn. They have contracts to match and a good selection of picks. The own the Bucks' pick, the other part we don't control. So we could lock down that selection, and another (Knicks or Houston). We go into the draft with 3 picks, 2 potentially in the lottery. I'd love to get Cam Johnson and DFS too..

Zion & CJ (who I’d hate to give up) for Desmond Bane and Jarren Jackson.

The problem is the teams that would take that kind of risk, like Miami, don't have much to give.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think we can get what some of you think we can .
The league knows he’s fat , the league knows he’s immature , the league knows his step dad sucks to deal with , the league knows he misses more then half of the games . You aren’t getting the AD offer for a 1 time all star .
Yes, there may be a team that thinks they can fix him but unless they are getting bid up I don’t see why they would put too much on the table .
A good ( not all star) player or 2 with a pick or 2 seems like the ceiling .

Very few teams are trading the farm for Zion because he's clearly too risky to build around. You would need a situation like I mentioned with Miami where they would feel comfortable adding him to their mix, but they don't have many expendable assets we would want. I can see a team like Brooklyn going all in if you can find someone that wants to play with Zion and do a Kawhi/Paul George situation where trading for Zion gets you that star package.
So Brooklyn is probably your path to the biggest return if you can find Zion's Paul George.

Why in the world would Memphis do that?

Think about this.
Andrew Wiggins was the #1 pick.
Signed max rookie extension with Wolves.
He averaged 20ppg, and missed a grand total of 18 games in 5.5 years with them.
He was traded to the Warriors mid season with 2 years left on his contract, max contract at $30m/yr in 2020.
The Wolves traded Wiggins and a 21 1st and a second for D'angelo Russell and trash. Russell was coming off a breakout year in Brooklyn where he made an all-star team, but he had been on 3 teams in 5 years when he was traded to his 4th team in that 5th year.
If you remember at that time, the Wiggins was still putting up 20ppg, but it felt very empty and he looked like he didn't give a shite anymore. He wasn't playing defense and his shot was off.
Now compare what Zion has done to Wiggins, and remember that Wiggins missed 18 games in 5.5 years.
They gave up a 1st round pick to trade him and get back a young guy who just made an all-star team but was also someone no one really wanted for some reason.
I would think a similar scenario is trading Zion to the Nets for Cam Thomas.
That sounds crazy, and I think Zion has more value than that, but maybe i'm just hoping he has more value than that.
Would the Nets send us Cam Thomas and Cam Johnson for Zion?
I think there are teams out there willing to part with good players, but they arne't going to be willing to give a bunch of picks out for someone they might have to cut b/c he's a fat lazy vagina.

I don’t really care what they can get. I’m done with him, and I’ve lost all belief. At this point I value him as addition by subtraction.

Patrick Williams , cap relief and a future pick. Williams and Williamson are major disappointments but Patrick earns a lot less.
