The hype train grew too much. looking back before the play in game last year. I swore this whole board had 0% expectation to beat the clippers and take 2 from an overrated #1 seed suns.

I dont want to shite on what the boys did last year. because the flapping at years end was very strong. But us as a fan base 100% overhyped this team. there are still a couple missing pieces on this team.

THIS FRANCHISE IS NOT "SNAKEBIT"

i remeber my grandpa telling me the saints were snake bit in 2006-2007-and 2008.

Yeah duh, that's why everyone was begging for a 40% 3pt shooter and a rim protecting mobile big at the deadline.

We underperformed in 2022 because Zion missed the season. If you had said that by year 3 of Zion we hadn't made the playoffs no one would believe you.

By this point this team should be a consistent top 4 seed contender except we are 100% snake bitten.

Hyping up the future only works when the future becomes the present.

We’ve in perpetual “wait till next year” mode since the day we won the lottery and drafted AD. 13 years later and all we have to show for it is one playoff series victory. Eventually, fans will stop believing “next year” is ever coming.

It's already happened. We will make some decent move in the offseason and Griff will talk about how great Zion looks, and he will show up to camp shredded, then a week into next season him or BI will pick up a bump that keeps them out for a month and the cycle repeats.

Not yet, crowds are still good enough to the point where some business analytics person said it would be a good idea to raise season ticket prices.

I think if/when the Zion era ends the same way the CP3 era and AD era ended, that will be strike 3 for a lot of fans. Like if you couldn't compete for the west with any of those guys, then it may not be in the cards for this franchise ever.

A sobering reality is that us and Charlotte are the only two franchises in the NBA that have never made a conference final. It's fair to say we're one of the worst franchises in the league, which is a shame because we've had ample golden opportunities to dig ourselves out of the dungeon, only to fail spectacularly the first two times and are not trending in the right direction for a third time.
