He didn't sign yet. He will on July 11th if something isn't worked out before then.

He can still visit other teams, but I doubt he will.

He will LOVE playing for the team that pays him max money. He wasn't a Hornet by choice. We shouldn't hate the guy for going somewhere else for more money. Phoenix's first words in their negotiations weren't "You aren't worth a max deal because you get hurt all the time." They said, "Here, have money!" Done.

We have a week to work Phoenix for every asset they'll cough up.

We can match to keep him, but no other teams were keen to give him a max deal as an RFA, so unless he plays every game up until the trade deadline, at an allstar level, I don't see how we would ever get max value for him in a trade, or have a reason to trade him if he does play that well.

He put us in the position to have to bet on him like Phoenix is, or walk away with some sign and trade bits.

Kudos to him and his management. No hard feelings at all.
