Speaking of messengers, MM said QPon and cash was probably going to happen like a month ago. The final price ended up including a 2nd too. Did they have this same deal in place a month ago minus the 2nd and then Solo went down and the price went up?

Personally I doubt it.
I think that QPon case was similar to McRoberts.
Teams knew Pels financial situation.
MM - do you expect that one of those will be a trade or both will be FA signing (Dante and f.e. Rush).
Personally I expect:
1. Trade in works or
2. Possible failed negotiations with Dante
