It’s been an extremely frustrating ride with this franchise for the majority of the last 15 years. Each additional blow becomes tougher to recover from.
This season was not supposed to be like this.
Try more like 30 years when Larry Johnson's injuries limited his once high ceiling. Having the worst owner in sports for awhile, leading to relocation and the league owning the team. Two superstar HOFers requesting trades, one in a really poor manner, and the next "superstar" to join the team is currently sitting while healthy.
Oh, and they have never made an Eastern/Western Conference finals series, let alone win one. Even the Sacramento Kings had a brief run that likely results in the championship if it didn't have one of the most rigged games in modern sports history. This franchise really is a mess.

If you trash Zion, trash Willie, trash Griff, etc., in what way are you actually a fan?
Being a critic is not the same as being a fan. And being a hater is especially not the same as being a fan.
I'm obviously not saying that a real fan can't criticize -- of course not. But there's a difference between fan criticism and cussing out players and staff and making all kinds of gratuitous insults.
I really didn't think the mods should have allowed the Ben Simmons post, for example. That comparison is just vile.

Well. Everything Jrobic4 said is true. I’ve lost my love for the city where I was born and raised. Will always love the Saints. And I will pay attention to the Pels on occasion. They’re not really in my heart as I left NOLA before the NBA returned. But yeah. All that shite is true.
Went to a Pels game a few weeks back. My first ever. Ran into a guy who was our QB in high school. He gave me the run down on where all his grown kids were located. He said “they’re never coming back”….
To which I responded “why would they”

This board used to be small, but it was made up of actual fans. The success at the end of last season and the beginning of this season brought in a bunch of bandwagoners who weren't real fans -- they started frequenting this board because they got caught up in the hype and wanted to be part of it.
We used to make fun of Westbank Lakers fans: people who weren't real fans but rather chose to associate themselves with a successful brand. A lot of those people actually swapped out Lakers jerseys for Pels jerseys earlier this season, but that doesn't mean they became true fans.
Now, those fake fans have turned on the team. The sad part is a large number of true fans in here are allowing the trashy, fake ones to drag them down too. I'm saying that real fans here don't have to participate in that -- you can let the fake ones pull their Lakers jerseys out of the back of their closets and go their own way.
