DraftExpress projects us to get this 7'1 center Alex Len from Maryland. He had 23 and 12 with 4 blocks in the opener against Kentucky. Here's his profile: LINK
It also says that Poythress is more of a face-up 4 with limited ball skills, so I don't know if he would work at the 3 in the NBA.

Have you seen him play? He is an animal. He is also shooting above 50% from 3.

No.
We will see. Lillard is compiling numbers playing 38 minutes a game, which makes his assist numbers look nice. He's a tweener and really shouldn't even be playing PG. He is top 5 in the league in turnovers and his ast/to ratio is bad. He's jacking up 15 shots a game and shooting a crappy FG%.
Collison was the same way. He averaged 40 minutes a game as 37 games as a rookie starter for the Hornets. Put up 19/9 with unreal percentages.
Minutes will level off, teams will have better equiped scouting reports, numbers will diminish and people will start seeing him as an average player.

I've only seen highlights on TV but I haven't taken the time to watch a game yet. I'm sure he's talented but the guys who examine players like him for a living say that he plays more like a 4. I still wouldn't mind drafting him but we need someone who's more of a 3 than a 4. I'll make sure to watch him myself before I make a judgment, though. I am intrigued by the Maryland center.

McCollum is nowhere the prospect that Lillard was. Lillard is the prototype in terms of tools. the kid had it all. The only reason people were skeptical of the kid was because of the school he went to.
McCollum lacks the footspeed, quickness, and athleticism that Lillard possesses. He also lacks that explosive first step.
Watching McCollum, you see him more of a ball handler than a point guard at this stage. That's probably where the combo guard label comes from. He plays both the SG/PG for Lehigh but due to his scoring ability he plays more of the SG role.
What I like about McCollum is his ability to play off ball. He is equally effective playing offball and onball. He's pretty active without the ball compared to Lillard on college. Lillard tend to stand around too much when the ball isn't in his hands. I also like McCollum's willingness to defend. He isn't lazy defensively like Lillard was. That was one of my biggest gripe with Lillard.
McCollum relies heavily on strong dribbling and brute strength on dribble penetration. while he rarely blows by his man due to his footspeed and athleticism, he uses his very nice handles and powerful frame to get him into the lane and get off a good shot.
I think McCollum is a combo guard in the NBA. He will log a lot of minutes due to his ability to play both positions effectively.

Trey Burke is killing it right now. Have to see how he keeps it up moving into conference. But, at the level that he is playing, he is likely to move up into lottery consideration and possibly into the top 10.

This right here tells me you should never analyze a single thing about basketball ever again.

Because he scored 29 points? He played 40 minutes and shot 22 times. Had 6 assists. As a "PG". Granted he only had 2 TO and shot 50%... Nice work. He is a good player, never said he wasn't.
Is he not top 5 in the league in turnovers? Is his Ast:TO ratio not awful? Is he not shooting 42%?
Give me the breakdown on him, I'm interested to hear. I bet you win championships on nba live![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

TB3 looking terrific tonight against WVU
Want to see him against conference competition to see of he able to sustain this level of play.
27 pts on 12-16 shooting, 8 dimes and 0 turnovers

If there's one thing I love about the kid, it's his ability to protect the ball. The kids is averaging 2.1 turnovers per game... Down from 2.8 a year ago. Even CP3 turnovers per game went up 2.1 to 2.8 in tenure at Wake. If he maintain his turnover rate and keep up his production, I would not hesitate to take him after 5th assuming Shabazz, Noel, Zeller, Mclemore, and Goodwin are all in this draft.
