Magic start pulling away and then the grizzlies get a 4 point play. Perfect
And another 3, from 110-101 to 110-108 in the blink of an eye

The Grizzlies schedule for the rest of this month is brutal. It will be difficult for them to even win half of those games. We have a real chance here. We just have to handle business on our end.

Do you believe in Magic?

35 games remain between Pels & Grizz after tonight. “Magic number” is now down to 21 (Pels wins/Grizz losses) to surpass Grizz for 8th spot.
ETA: maybe downvoter doesn’t understand
Magic number refers to clinching scenarios. If pels win remaining 18 games for instance and Memphis only lost 3 then Pels make playoffs at 46-36 over Grizz at 46-36. Can substitute any pels win for a Grizz loss and formula still works. Magic number is 21. Games against Grizz remaining for pels will count double!

This was, on paper, the 2nd-easiest game that they had left.
They still have a home game vs the Knicks that they should win. Besides that, their only games against teams with losing records are:
@ Portland
@ San Antonio
vs us
@ us
@ Portland (again)
They won't be favored in any of those. All their other games are against teams with winning records:
@ Utah
vs OKC
@ Milwaukee
vs Boston
vs Toronto
@ Toronto
vs Dallas
@ Denver
vs OKC
vs Philadelphia
@ Houston
They won't be favored in any of those either. They will be underdogs in 13 of their last 14 games. This was really a bad loss for them. The Grizzlies HAD to win tonight, and they blew it.

It's nice watching a relevant game this time of year
Last year at this time was kinda brutal despite the team trying their best
