It seems like the refs are trying to help the visiting team.
Then they start giving us a few calls when the game is decided.

It's pretty clear the OP is admitting to being a ref jinx.
Seriously though, the refs behavior last night was really sketchy. They called nothing on both sides pretty fairly...until the Pels got close. It's like they had both reservations for dinner they had to get to, and bet on the Celtics.
Tom Haberstroh did an interesting ref report last season about which teams get the best refs. With the exception of Memphis being on the preferred list, it went about like you'd expect. Look at poor Orlando and Charlotte getting the most rookie refs by a good margin.
The Pels were bottom 5 in getting experienced refs.

Is there a good correlation between new refs and poor officiating and/or unbiased officiating.
I guess my thought is some of these experienced refs have built relationships with certain players and therefore may give them the benefit of the doubt. I guess that is also what you are saying since the experienced refs tend to always be with the “premiere” teams so they tend to build those relationships.

Refs last night were sketchy as frick.
If you watch any other basketball games the refs just fricking suck. The other night Boston got shafted several times on the NBATV game.

Well if it means anything, most of the games you didn’t go to the refs also sucked…
Feels like the Pels get two kinds of refs:
1.) Refs that actively seem to work for the other team
2.) Refs that just let everything go
I’m still waiting on that elusive meaningful game where the refs are actually giving us equal calls, or shock, we actually win the ref favoritism game for once
