Silly to debate since you can’t control whether Davis plays or not. The team’s best interest is to continue to compete as that will help keep Davis focused and content and that will give the front office time to look for the best option. The best option isn’t there until July so there’s no point in escalating the issue and creating a hostile situation.

I am not one bit saying sit Davis on the bench and throw the season. I’m saying Id the organization decides to wait til 2019 summer and have him play out the rest of the 49 potentially + games, we are risking losing our future investment. He can pull a Kawhi. Rehab on his own time, get paid by the team, walk for nothing.

I just like to play he odds and even if he’s 80-90% ouf is the door, that 10% is not worth losing years of a Ben Simmons or jaysun tatum.

The thing is when Elfrid and Niko come back, we could easily hit a couple 10 game win streaks like last year and secure a top 4 seed.. You dont sit him until theres no hope of making the playoffs at all..

The West is super tight, we are only 7.5 games back from the #1 seed

I get it but with this distraction and the schedule coming up without Payton playing we could easily go 1-4
@sac
@dal
Vs dal
Vs hou
Vs min

Dal, Hou, Min playing much better of late and Sac on the road shorthanded could easily beat us

That puts us at 16-22. Let’s be generous and say 43 gets you in. That means you have to finish 27-17 in the back half of the season on the generous side. It could very well be more like 45-46 once Houston and Utah get their shite together. We’ve already seen those teams run off 75-80% last 35 games or so

I threw this idea on the MSB and it makes too much logical sense for both sides. Philly should be calling the Pels and offering them this yesterday.

Simmons for Davis, obvious filler needed, maybe even throw in Fultz just to get it done.

Philly does this because-

their starting frontcourt for years to come would be Butler/Davis/Embiid. I mean holy shite. That’s an offensive AND defensive power house. To top it all off, maybe the best Embiid or Davis neutralizer moving forward would be eliminated and on the same team (I know Embiid won the first matchup). They’re a decent PG away from just dominating the Leastern Conference for years. You know who’s a free agent this year? Ricky Rubio who would probably be fairly cheap considering his down year scoring..but he won’t need to. Just play defense and drop dimes which he does well.

Starting 5
Rubio
Redick
Butler
Davis
Embiid

Does it get any more balanced and better than that? 3 elite defenders. 2 elite center fielders, offense is self explanatory and uh good luck snagging boards on these boys

Why the Pels do this - somehow the Pelicans luck into another #1 pick with once in a decade talent who hasn’t quite hit his potential and has some ? Marks. That would be a huge win to sell fans. Fultz would be a nice little bonus. He may suck forever, but if he ever got his shite together...diamond in the rough. Jrue Holiday gets to play the 1 technically but he’s not the point guard. This allows us to run Moore at the 2 again

Jrue
Moore
Simmons
Randle
Mirotic

This just makes too much sense.
