Marc Stein - @TheSteinLine: The Boston Celtics refused to make Jayson Tatum available in trade talks with New Orleans, league sources say, putting the Lakers in prime position to strike the deal that teams Anthony Davis with LeBron James

Because AD made it known he wasn't going sign anywhere but NY or LA. Screw him for limiting our trade possibilites

Good for Ainge. Rich Paul and Lebron run this league. They were never re-signing him.

The Celtics are going to struggle to get out of the first not making this deal with Kyrie bolting. Was that worth keeping Tatum to them?

Without Kyrie, trading for AD didn't make any sense for Boston. I think Tatum is absolutely on the block is Kyrie were willing to come back and try to win Boston a title with AD.

Enjoy not winning shite Celts. Your roster will stay the same and you take no risks.

I was hoping Ainge was dumb enough to pull the trigger, but obviously that was merely wishful thinking. It would have been a terrible move on his part to trade Tatum away without getting a long term commitment from Davis.

Considering how Tatum wasn't even on the table, Griffin did great. All the people who passed judgement before all of the details were released look like imbeciles.
